Maisha Creations (MC) is more than a label; it’s a new life to fashion. Mehwish Afzal, the creative brain behind MC, is a BBA graduate of American University in Dubai, specialized in Marketing and Advertising and holds a degree in fashion designing
from Centre for Executive Education (CEE), EDEXCEL LONDON; she has lived in Dubai since the age of three. Originally from Pakistan, Mehwish has experienced Dubai grow from a desert to a cosmopolitan city. She has been a part of many shows/exhibitions in Dubai; Dubai Bride Show, Abu Dhabi Bride Show, Runaway Art Show, Burjuman Creations Show, Style 2010 Fujairah Fashion Show, Dubai Fashion Fiesta, Miss Velvet Fashion Shows; are just to name a few. Recently, she showcased her latest Eid Collection “A la Mode” at Fashion Club Party (August 2011) which was held in Sanctuary, Atlantis, for which she received rave reviews post the show; and exhibited the collection at Women Lifestyle Fashion Event (September 2011) at Al Tawuun Mall. MC debuted in Dubai Fashion Week SS2011 where we showcased our latest Cest la Vie collection, for which we received rave reviews. An individual with diverse interests, she has been actively involved in charity work and other activities also. MC is mainly a multi-fashion house specializing in jalabiyas (embellished with swarovski crystals, stones and antique work) and traditional wear, for both men and women, including made-to-order and ready-to-wear line. Furthermore, focusing on evening and cocktail dresses and wedding gowns (made-to-order only). It’s best known as combining contemporary silhouettes with traditional techniques. The design philosophy at MC gives it a definitive edge and enhances its appeal to an increasing clientele worldwide which has an appreciation for innovation and creativity. The unique traditional-Middle Eastern inspired designs combined with western influences at MC are enlarged by stylish cutting and color choices that make the collections stand out in the crowd. The attires are simple, elegant and ready-to-wear. MC is now associated with Link and Line Boutique which is located in London, UK and is a part of the Pakistan Extravaganza Fashion Show which takes place every year in different states of UK. Maisha Creations supplies to and stocks at outlets in New Delhi, India; Houston Texas, US; Link & Line Boutique, UK; and has their own workshop in Karachi where the production takes place. In Dubai, they retail from Velvet Class Boutique (Sharjah), Grafika Boutique (Abu Dhabi), Anbara Boutique (Dubai), and the workshop which is located in Bur Dubai, also online, through Facebook and the website.
