We are SO proud of current music student SAMARA for being one of QUBE Effects finalists for 2026!! 🏆

Run by Brisbane City Council QUBE Effect is a music development program for young and emerging Brisbane artists that helps artists network and gain mentoring from leading experts in Australia’s music industry (with the addition of a killer live performance music video filmed at Airlock Studios along the way!).

Samara isn't the only JMC student in the mix either, her incredible band is also made up almost entirely of Brissy Audio Engineering students. As if we couldn't be any prouder?? 🥹

There is only 48 hours left to vote for the people's choice award. We don't know about you, but we know who we're casting our vote for 👀 Head to the BCC website to vote now! 💙

Here's what you can expect on the day:
🎧 Explore our recording studios, film production spaces, animation labs + more (and get hands on with some seriously awesome gear)
🎭 Jump into acting and music theatre workshops and experience a DITL of a performer
🎮 Get amongst out our game and animation tech, and play some student games
🎤 Meet our lecturers, students, and some very special industry guests!

Last week, our Melbourne campus hosted the Kosdown Printing JMC Design Awards and the talent on show blew us away 🎉

A massive congrats to our winner Yuting Khoo for her My Asian Foods ABC's book, which sought to engage Asian children in celebrating their culture ❤️

Ashleigh Laure also took out runner up for her stunning Lindt x Crown Casino packaging design!! Checking out the student work gallery and seeing what our creative crew have been working on this year was such an amazing reminder of how much skill is coming out of this campus 🙌

Thank you to Kosdown Printing for partnering with us to celebrate our students and all the hard work they've been putting in 👏
