Calling all croquet-lovers. The time is fast approaching for us to elect a new foursome of croquet enthusiasts to take the reigns for the coming year. We have sent all members an email requesting expressions of interest for executive positions. Anyone interested please reply to that email by Sunday. If you didn't receive the email (check your spam folder) then please feel free to email us anyway! See you on the lawns

Greetings fellow ball-whackers. We're going to be on South Lawn from 12-2pm tomorrow to soak up some rays and wash down some Pimm's, and hope to see you there. It's time for a mid-semester pick-me-up and the MUCC is hear to answer your cravings! Good morrow!

Croqueteers! It's been a long winter but we're back for another croquet-filled semester. We'll be getting underway with our first barbecue on Tuesday September 1st, and with our AGM around the corner, we're looking for croquet fanatics to fill executive positions for the next year. Swing a mallet our way at [email protected] if you're interested!

Missing croquet? Here's a little something to keep you going. Contrary to popular belief, modern croquet originated in Ireland, where it was adapted from the French game 'Jeu de Mail'. Legend has it a group of wealthy aristocrats discovered the game while out hunting. Spread the word

Happy 21st to our very own secretary Luke. Get down to South Lawn now for snags, beers and Pimms.

Feeling a bit nippy with our wintery Melbourne conditions? Not as nippy as the scientists at the South Pole Observatory, who played the first game of croquet in Antarctica in 2005. Glaciologist Sir Clark Ballsworth took out the championship, remaining cool under pressure. Croquet fact slapped no.2

You were daydreaming today in your lectures about hard wooden mallets and colourful balls, we know it. But don't fret, the croquet club is dropping knowledge harder than that grimy track you heard at revolver on a Sunday at 6am.
Croquet was the first outdoor sport to embrace equality, allowing both sexes to play on an equal footing. We're proud of our ancestry of the sport of kings here at MUCC.
Next event soon to be announced with Pimms on as our unofficial partner. Tell your friends.
