The Conservation Planning Group focuses on spatial solutions to diverse resource management problems, involving the design of conservation areas and applications of a variety of conservation actions. Our goal is to guide management that promotes the persistence and sustainable use of natural resources and that is implemented with local communities and other stakeholders. We are an international te

am of researchers with study areas spread across and around Australia, through the Coral Triangle and Oceania, and further afield in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Costa Rica and East Africa. In designing and conducting our research, we place a high value on engagement with managers and policy makers, from local communities to local, state and federal governments and non-government organizations.

A new study led by Ruby Grantham ( ) found that while (collecting organisms like , , and by hand close to shore) is important for in rough weather, it's still difficult/impossible for some families at certain times of the year. The study found the ability of households to glean in rough weather was influenced by the total area and type of shallow habitat close to the community.
