On Sunday, Sydney witnessed one of the most remarkable displays of unity, identity, and collective presence within the Hazara community.
“World Hazara Culture Day” was held in Fairfield with an overwhelmingly large turnout from the community.
More than six thousand families, young people, children, elders, community organisations, cultural and student associations, and volunteers came together to create a powerful image of a community that, despite generations of hardship and suffering, continues to stand with dignity, awareness, and solidarity.
For us at SABA, the greatest achievement of this day was not simply the large crowd or the scale of the event, but the spirit of togetherness, responsibility, and belonging that could be felt throughout the entire space. From children proudly wearing traditional Hazaragi clothing, to young volunteers who worked tirelessly for weeks to make this event possible, every person reflected a generation determined to embrace its identity consciously, proudly, and with hope for the future.
This event was organised through the leadership and close collaboration of SABA Group and the Day Cultural Association.
We also sincerely thank Katib Hazara Association and Afghan Fajr Association for their support and partnership in making this event possible.
Special appreciation goes to Hazara Cultural House and Newcastle Hazara Association, whose dedicated volunteers played a valuable role in the organisation, management, and welcoming atmosphere of the program.
We also thank Hazara Voice, Sydney Hazara Cultural Association, Dar Dari, Homa Media, Al-Zahra Association, AYA, SAFA, Bamiyan Society, and USAS for their participation, contribution, and support.
