Govt. Syed Hatem Ali College, Barisal The college was established in 1966 by the earnest endeavor and financial assistance of Sir Syed Hatem Ali. In 1986 it was nationalized.

The college is situated at the hub of the Barisal town. It has 8 disciplines including higher-secondary and graduate level. Almost 5000 students are studying. Presently 67 teachers and 31 staffs are serving the college. Though the ratio of teachers and students are bit smaller but it has all other facilities like well-equipped scientific lab, computer lab, large play ground, dormitory and so on.
