North South University recently hosted a seminar titled “Why is Combating Islamophobia in Myanmar Critical to the Repatriation of Rohingya Refugees?” focusing on the challenges surrounding the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar. The discussion highlighted how discrimination, violence, and systemic Islamophobia continue to affect the Rohingya community and remain major barriers to repatriation efforts. Experts and speakers also emphasized the importance of international cooperation, human rights protection, and regional stability in resolving the crisis.
