We are deeply saddened to inform you of the untimely demise of 𝐌𝐝. 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦 (𝐈𝐃: 𝟑𝟎𝟐𝟔𝟎𝟏𝟎𝟏𝟑𝟔𝟔), a student of the Department of Textile Engineering, Northern University Bangladesh. He passed away on 17 June 2026 (Wednesday) due to kidney disease. "𝐥𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐰𝐚 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐡𝐢 𝐫𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐮𝐧".

The entire NUB Textile family mourns this irreparable loss and prays for the eternal peace of his departed soul. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him the highest place in 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐭𝐮𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐬, and bless him with eternal peace.

The Department of Textile Engineering of Northern University Bangladesh organized a seminar titled “𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡’𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫” along with the 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 – 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Seminar Room 105 of the university’s main building.

The program was graced by the 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐝. 𝐌𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, as the 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. (𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫.) 𝐌𝐝. 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐭𝐝. The event was also attended by the department’s coordinator, faculty members, and students. The session was 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐆. 𝐌. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠.

The program commenced with a welcome address by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐨𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫 of the Department of Textile Engineering. He warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students and highlighted the significance of the seminar.

In his speech, the 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. (𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫.) 𝐌𝐝. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, highly appreciated the initiative of organizing both the seminar and the Academic Excellence Award Ceremony. He emphasized that sustainable development is essential for the future growth and global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s textile industry. He also stressed the importance of universities and textile engineering departments in advancing research and developing skilled human resources to support sustainable industrial development.

During the keynote session, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 discussed how sustainability can serve as a game-changer for the textile sector. He highlighted the importance of adopting solar energy, water recycling, and garment waste recycling to ensure environmental sustainability and long-term business competitiveness. He also encouraged students to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge beyond their academic curriculum to meet the demands of the evolving textile industry.

Addressing the students, the 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐝. 𝐌𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, spoke about the increasing competition in the global textile market and the strategies Bangladesh must adopt to strengthen its position. He elaborated on the role of innovation, marketing, and value addition in sustaining the growth of the country’s textile and apparel industry.

At the end of the seminar, certificates and crest awards were presented to the outstanding students of the Spring 2026 semester. The award recipients were 𝐌𝐬𝐭. 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚 (𝐂𝐆𝐏𝐀 𝟑.𝟗𝟒) from the 1st semester, 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐀𝐤𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝟑.𝟖𝟖) from the 2nd semester, 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐢 (𝟒.𝟎𝟎) from the 3rd semester, 𝐌𝐬𝐭. 𝐉𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐧𝐢𝐦 (𝟒.𝟎𝟎) from the 4th semester, 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐢𝐦 (𝟑.𝟖𝟔) from the 5th semester, 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 (𝟑.𝟗𝟐) from the 6th semester, 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐫𝐢𝐪 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦 (𝟒.𝟎𝟎) from the 8th semester, 𝐀𝐬𝐦𝐚 𝐀𝐤𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝟑.𝟕𝟓) from the 9th semester, 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐦𝐚 𝐔𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐮 (𝟑.𝟗𝟐) from the 10th semester, and 𝐁𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐛 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐬 (𝟒.𝟎𝟎) from the 11th semester. In addition, 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐫𝐢𝐪 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦 received a special award for achieving the 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐆𝐏𝐀 𝐨𝐟 𝟑.𝟗𝟖 in the department.
Following the award distribution, the students participated in a photo session with the distinguished guests, creating a joyful and memorable atmosphere.

In his closing remarks, the 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐆. 𝐌. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥, discussed the skills and professional competencies required for success in the textile sector. He emphasized the importance of strong networking and collaboration between current students and alumni. Expressing his confidence in the students’ abilities, he stated that the students of the Department of Textile Engineering, Northern University Bangladesh, would continue to demonstrate excellence and contribute significantly to the industry in the future.

The NUB Textile Club and the Department of Textile Engineering at Northern University Bangladesh jointly organized the Freshers’ Reception program for the 51st Batch (Day) on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The newly admitted students were warmly welcomed to the NUB Textile family by the Head of the Department, coordinators, faculty members, and executives of the NUB Textile Club.

The program commenced with inaugural speeches delivered by the coordinators of the department. During the session, the freshers were introduced to the academic environment, along with the rules, regulations, and educational policies of the department and the university. In his concluding remarks, the Head of the Department highlighted the significant contribution of Bangladesh’s textile sector to the national economy and emphasized the promising future opportunities for textile engineering graduates.

The 45th Batch of the Department of Textile Engineering, Northern University Bangladesh officially began their academic journey on June 12, 2026 through a welcoming and orientation program organized by the department. The newly admitted students were warmly greeted by the Head of the Department, G.M. Faysal, along with the co-coordinators and other esteemed faculty members. During the program, mentors introduced the students to the university’s academic environment, education policies, examination systems, and other important academic guidelines. A guided campus tour was also arranged to help the students become familiar with the university facilities and surroundings. The orientation program concluded with an inspiring speech by the Head of the Department.
