Dear Esteemed Alumni of BISC,

Warm greetings from Bangladesh International School & College.

We are delighted to inform you that BISC is going to organize its *Proclamation Day* on 18 December 2025.

Due to the scale of the event and the participation of 4,600 parents and students (who have already confirmed), venue capacity and security arrangements have become extremely challenging.

In this regard, we sincerely request our beloved alumni to kindly refrain from attending this year’s Proclamation Day only, as attendance will be limited strictly to graduating students carrying valid *BISC ID cards* and their invited guardians.

Please know that this decision has been taken purely due to logistical and safety considerations, and in no way reflects a lack of appreciation for our alumni, who remain an integral and proud part of the BISC family.

We truly look forward to welcoming you in our future alumni-exclusive programs and events.

The Bangladesh International School and College Alumni Association (BISCAA), Bangladesh extends its deepest condolences to the families of the six Bangladeshi peacekeepers who tragically lost their lives in Sudan. We also pray for the full and swift recovery of the eight peacekeepers who were injured in this tragic incident.

We honour the bravery and sacrifice of our peacekeepers and acknowledge Bangladesh’s longstanding and respected role in global peacekeeping efforts. BISCAA stands in solidarity with the nation during this time of national mourning.

May Allah grant eternal peace to the departed souls and give strength and patience to their grieving families. Ameen.

সুদানের আবেই এলাকায় জাতিসংঘ শান্তিরক্ষা মিশনের ঘাঁটিতে সন্ত্রাসী ড্রোন হামলায় বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর শান্তিরক্ষী হতাহত

ঢাকা, ১৪ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৫ (রবিবার): সুদানের আবেই এলাকায় জাতিসংঘ শান্তিরক্ষা মিশনের আওতাধীন কাদুগলি লজিস্টিক বেসে গতকাল (শনিবার) স্থানীয় সময় আনুমানিক দুপুর ৩টা ৪০ মিনিট থেকে ৩টা ৫০ মিনিট পর্যন্ত বিচ্ছিন্নতাবাদী সশস্ত্র গোষ্ঠী কতৃক ড্রোন হামলা পরিচালনা করা হয়। উক্ত হামলায় দায়িত্বরত ৬ (ছয়) জন বাংলাদেশি শান্তিরক্ষী শহীদ হন এবং ৮ (আট) জন শান্তিরক্ষী আহত হন।

শহীদ শান্তিরক্ষীদের নাম:

২। সৈনিক মোঃ মমিনুল ইসলাম, বীর (কুড়িগ্রাম)
৩। সৈনিক শামীম রেজা, বীর (রাজবাড়ি)

৫। মেস ওয়েটার মোহাম্মদ জাহাঙ্গীর আলম (কিশোরগঞ্জ)

আহত শান্তিরক্ষীদের নাম:

আহত ০৮ (আট) জন শান্তিরক্ষীকে প্রয়োজনীয় চিকিৎসা প্রদান করা হচ্ছে। তাদের মধ্যে সৈনিক মোঃ মেজবাউল কবিরের অবস্থা গুরুতর হওয়ায় ইতিমধ্যে তার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার সম্পন্ন করা হয়েছে এবং বর্তমানে তিনি নিবিড় পর্যবেক্ষণে রয়েছেন। অপর আহত ০৭ (সাত) জনকে উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য হেলিকপ্টারযোগে স্থানান্তর করা হয়েছে এবং তারা সকলেই শঙ্কামুক্ত রয়েছেন।

বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী এই নৃশংস সন্ত্রাসী হামলার তীব্র নিন্দা জানাচ্ছে। শহীদ শান্তিরক্ষীদের আত্মত্যাগ বিশ্ব শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠায় বাংলাদেশের অঙ্গীকারের এক উজ্জ্বল ও গৌরবময় নিদর্শন হয়ে থাকবে।

বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর পক্ষ থেকে শহীদদের শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানানো হচ্ছে এবং আহতদের দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনা করা হচ্ছে।

With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, the Bangladesh International School & College Alumni Association (BISCAA) announces the passing of Major Mehreen Mahbub (Engineers, 74th BMA Long Course, ex-cadet MGCC, proud BISCian – Batch 2011).

Rest in peace, dear Mehreen. You will be remembered with love, respect, and countless prayers.

She was the beloved daughter of
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Mahbubul Alam Chowdhry
Artillery, 4th BMA Long Course.

May Allah ﷻ envelop her in His infinite mercy, forgive her shortcomings, expand her grave, and grant her the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

We sincerely pray that all members of the community keep her in their du’as. She leaves behind her loving husband, Major Ibrahim (73rd BMA Long Course), and two very young children, aged 1 year 10 months and 2 months. May Allah ﷻ bless her family with patience, strength, and His divine protection, and watch over her little ones always. Ameen.

The BISC family deeply mourns the passing of Ms. Mahbuba Shafi, a veteran BISC faculty member.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
"Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return." - Surah Al-Baqarah (2:156).

Ms. Mahbuba Shafi was more than just an educator—her warmth, kindness, mentoring and motherly affection made her a second mother to many of her students. Her jolly nature, caring heart and ever-smiling face touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her students carry forward her teachings and cherish the love she so generously shared.

As a colleague, she was like an elder sister to all—always caring, always guiding, ever helpful, cooperative and full of life.

BISC will forever be grateful for her great contribution, dedication, devotion and the profound impact she left on countless students' lives.

We pray for her maghfirah and ask Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant her the highest rank in Jannatul Ferdous. We express our deepest condolences to her bereaved family and loved ones. May Allah (SWT) grant them strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed senior teacher, Mr. Bishwajit Bhattachariya, this evening. Mr. Bhattachariya was a respected and beloved educator whose influence touched the lives of countless students. The Alumni Association extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. We respectfully request that everyone offer their prayers for the repose of his soul and for strength and solace for his family in their bereavement.

A Proud Legacy Continues

It is a moment of immense pride and joy to witness our dear niece, Zartaaj Binte Zahid, as a second-generation student at BISC. Her mother, Zamian Binta Khaleq, a proud alumna from the 2008 batch, once walked these same halls, sat on these same benches, and created cherished memories. Today, Zartaaj is following in her footsteps, building her own journey in the same beloved institution.

To Zartaaj: You are a beautiful continuation of this legacy. May you excel in your studies, create lifelong memories, and carry forward the love and respect for BISC, just like your mother, Zamian Binta Khaleq, did. This connection across generations is truly heartwarming and inspiring.
