🎉 Orientation & Freshers’ Reception Program 2026 🎉

The Orientation Program of the 2nd Batch of the Department of Development Studies was successfully held today, Tuesday, 3 March 2026, at 11:00 am at the Student–Teacher Auditorium of the permanent campus of Dhaka International University (DIU). The program was jointly organized with three other departments, making a total of four departments participating in the event: Development Studies, Business Administration, Law, and Pharmacy.

The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zahidul Islam, attended the program as the Chief Guest. The session was presided over by Advocate Shahed Kamal Patowary, Member of the Board of Trustees. Distinguished speakers included former Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Saha, Treasurer Professor Dr. A.T.M. Mahbubur Rahman Sarker, Proctor Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain, and Student Welfare Advisor Professor Muhammad Shah Alam Chowdhury.

Besides, the Chairmen of the respective departments were present and addressed the students: Dr. Shamim Hamide, Assistant Professor and Chairman, Department of Development Studies; Nasir Ahmad, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Law; Associate Professor Md. Akbar Hossain, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy; and Md. Azmir Hossain, Dean (Acting), Faculty of Business Studies and Chairman, Department of Business Administration.

The program was anchored by Md. Nazmul Huda, Lecturer, Department of Development Studies. The event created a welcoming and inspiring environment for the new students as they begin their academic journey. Wishing all freshers a meaningful and successful university life ahead.

Dhaka International University - DIU এর অরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রামে বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান নতুন শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে পরিচিত হয়ে তাদের নতুন একাডেমিক যাত্রা শুরু করতে উদ্বুদ্ধ করেন।তিনি আশা করেন, তারা উন্মুক্ত মন ও উদ্যম নিয়ে অধ্যয়ন করবে, নতুন সুযোগ অনুসন্ধান করবে এবং নিজের সম্ভাবনার সর্বোচ্চ ব্যবহার করতে পারবে। নতুন অধ্যায়ের শুরুতে সবাইকে অভিনন্দন ও শুভকামনা।

DIU Athletes Day 2026, Organised by DIU Sports Club

What a splendid day it was!
Speed, laughter, dust in the air, friends cheering like family. From sack races to sprints, from loud applause to quiet pride, every moment carried the same feeling: this is what campus life should feel like.

Not just winners and medals, Not just races and games. This was about showing up, trying hard, laughing harder, and standing for each other.
Students, teachers, officers, staff; everyone on the same field, same energy, same joy.
