We are proud to officially announce the newly elected committee of the Data Science & Engineering Club (DSEC), BUBT.

Following a transparent and competitive election process held on 6th May 2026, these individuals have earned the trust and confidence of our members through their vision, dedication, and leadership potential. Our chief guest & respected chairman Md Rajibul Islam sir was present at the pitching session and gifted his valuable suggestions to this club. We also want to thank our club's Faculty Advisor, Itisha Nowrin ma'am. She was also there in the club meeting from the beginning, till the end. We were blessed to hear her important message to the club.

Each member of this committee represents a commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaborative growth. We believe this team will play a vital role in shaping the future of DSEC by fostering a strong community, organizing impactful initiatives, and driving forward our mission in the fields of data science and engineering.

Congratulations Md Rajibul Islam sir 🖤

Meet Our Distinguished Faculty: Dr. Md. Rajibul Islam

Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Data Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). With over nine years of academic and leadership experience, he is committed to student-centered learning and industry-focused education in AI, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Photonic Sensors.

He earned his Ph.D. in Physics (Photonics Engineering) from the University of Malaya and has held prestigious international roles, including Research Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Limerick under the Erasmus Mundus program. He previously served as Head of CSE at the University of Asia Pacific.

Dr. Islam has a strong research profile with 100+ publications, including international journals, books, and a patent. His work has been published in renowned journals such as IEEE Access, Scientific Reports, and IEEE Transactions. He has received multiple international recognitions, including awards, sponsorships, and listings in global directories.

His teaching focuses on practical learning, critical thinking, and real-world applications. Through his leadership, students at BUBT gain a global-standard education, preparing them to become skilled professionals, innovators, and future leaders.

‎DSEC First Committee Election 2026 (Online)

‎Election Date: 06 May 2026
‎
‎The first official committee election of DSEC will be conducted online through a structured and transparent process. All interested participants are requested to carefully follow the steps below.
‎
‎Step 1: DSEC Membership Registration
‎
‎All applicants must first complete the DSEC membership registration process.
‎
‎Only registered members of DSEC will be considered eligible to participate in the committee election.
‎
‎Step 2: Committee Application Form
‎

‎This form will serve as a complete guideline to help applicants understand the available positions and determine which role best matches their skills, interests, and qualifications.

‎Applicants are requested to:
‎
‎- Answer all questions sincerely and professionally
‎- Review their responses carefully before submission
‎- Ensure all provided information is accurate
‎
‎Step 3: Nominee Selection
‎
‎If more than two candidates apply for a specific position, a selection process will be conducted by the Electoral Board.
‎
‎The Electoral Board may include:
‎
‎- Faculty Advisor
‎- Chairman
‎
‎The board will shortlist two nominees for each position based on the quality, suitability, and professionalism of their application responses.
‎
‎Step 4: Live Pitching Session
‎
‎Shortlisted nominees will participate in an online live session via Google Meet.
‎
‎During this session, each nominee will present their vision, plans, and qualifications for their selected position.
‎
‎The session will be observed and evaluated by:

‎Step 5: Voting Process
‎
‎Following the pitching session, official voting will begin.

‎Voting will take place within the DSEC members WhatsApp Group, where registered club members will cast their votes for their preferred nominees.

‎The live session will remain active throughout the voting process to ensure transparency and engagement.
