À propos du conférencier:
Prof. Benjamin Becker is Full Professor, Director of the MIND & AI Lab, coordinator of the Cognitive Science Programme in the Department of Psychology, as well as Lead of the Strategic Research Theme: AI, Society & Social Dynamics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of Hong Kong. Over the past 15 years, he has established and led successful research teams in Germany, Mainland China, and Hong Kong. His work integrates social cognitive and affective neuroscience with advanced neuroimaging and AI-inspired decoding to investigate how the human brain regulates emotion, cognition and motivation and how these processes (1) contribute to mental health and mental disorders, (2) interact with and are reshaped by emerging technologies (including AI), and (3) can be modulated by novel technological (closed-loop regulation, AI chatbots) and pharmacological means (e.g. oxytocin, angiotensin II) to improve mental health.
Prof. Becker has published more than 340 publications, including original articles in Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Communications, Advanced Science, etc. and perspectives in Nature, Neuron, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, the BMJ, etc. He has translated several of the findings into novel interventions for mental disorders and successful clinical trials. He serves as Principal Editor of Psychopharmacology, as an active editorial board member of Advanced Science, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, Psychoradiology, PLOS Biology and founding Director of the CIBD Task Forces of the Global Brain Consortium. His contributions have been recognised by numerous awards and featured in keynote lectures.
