Volunteers needed!

BC Wheelchair Sports is seeking volunteers for the upcoming Wheelchair Rugby tournament, and IWRF Paralympic Qualification Tournament for Wheelchair Rugby.

The tournaments will be held simultaneously from March 2nd-9th, 2020 at the Richmond Olympic Oval (6111 River Road, Richmond BC). Below is a link to the volunteer sign up page for this event.

BC Wheelchair Sports Association is still looking for volunteers for this weekend's Wheelchair Rugby Tournament (March 8-10th).

See below for available positions, and email [email protected] if you are interested in more information.

Table Official
Friday: 2:30-7:30 & 8:30am-2:30pm
Saturday: 2:30-7:30 & 8:30am-2:30pm

Food Services
Friday: 9:00-2:30

Beer Garden (must have valid Serving It Right)
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 11:00-4:00

Spectator Services:
Friday: 8:30-1:30 and 1:30-7:30
Saturday: 8:30-1:30 and 1:30-7:30
Sunday: 8:30-1:00 and 1:00-5:00

KINS 1190 & 1191 – Anatomy and Physiology πŸ§ πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ

An introduction to human anatomy with particular emphasis on human movement. Lectures focus on the basic structure and function of the skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. Labs focus primarily on gross anatomy, and analysis of movement.

Learning Outcomes:

β€’ Describe the structures and functions of cells, tissues, bones, and muscles including how these
structures adapt to the stresses of exercise.
β€’ Name the bones in the human body and major landmarks on the bones.
β€’ Describe the structure and function of joints.
β€’ Describe the mechanical and physiological function of skeletal muscles.
β€’ Name and identify the skeletal muscles in the human body and their points of attachment.
β€’ Describe the basic structure and function of neurons and the nervous system.
β€’ Explain how the nervous system interacts with the musculoskeletal system.
β€’ Explain proper neuromuscular function from a clinical perspective.
β€’ Analyze human movement from an anatomical perspective, using appropriate terminology.
β€’ Understand the basic principles of energy systems and bioenergetics
