Destacados como el emprendimiento de la semana por la plataforma Bridge For Billions, pasen a leer la nota
Meet our entrepreneur of the week, Nicole Alejandra Castro Balladares! From Santiago, Chile, Nicole is the founder of GOOD RAGS · Buenos trapos, buenos tratos., a company whose mission is to reduce textile waste and promote the recycling of clothing in Chile. With the help of partner organization Impact Hub Madrid, GoodRags is increasing sustainability by collecting clothes’ donations and selling them second-hand as vintage wear. The inspiration for GoodRags was born out of Nicole’s studies in design thinking, which inspired her to take an analytic approach to her hobby of buying and selling vintage clothes on Facebook. As part of her degree, Nicole carried out an in-depth study of the second-hand clothing market in Chile. Through this, she discovered that the country was the second biggest buyer of second-hand clothing from the US, with used clothes in Chile simply being thrown away. GoodRags sees the revalorization of second-hand clothing in Chile as a necessity and facilitates the reinsertion of these garments into the Chilean clothing market. We love how she has created a local business model for second hand clothing, encouraging sustainability and ethical conduct within the market.
Nicole has been working with Bridge for Billions’ incubation platform for a month and a half now and has already seen significant transformations in her project. The specificity of our Business Tools has led her to rethink many previously decided aspects of GoodRags. Her aims moving forward with the program are to improve the economic and business side of her project, working with her mentor Maialen Parra de Arancibia in order to determine how best to generate a sustainable revenue from her idea. Nicole’s success in using our intuitive tools to rethink and redesign key aspects her project is why we’ve chosen her as entrepreneur of the week.
We're excited to be a part of GoodRag’s journey, encouraging sustainability in the Chilean clothes market. Find out more about their mission at GOOD RAGS · Buenos trapos, buenos tratos..
