Leadership of the new generation is one of the key topics we systematically develop within the emerging Centre of Excellence in cooperation with the Česká manažerská asociace.🤝

At the same time, we chose this very topic as the starting point for our first roundtable discussion. 💬

Our goal was to connect different perspectives - which is why we invited both experienced professionals from business and leadership, as well as our students, to join the discussion.

We consider this combination of different viewpoints essential. We do not see next-generation leadership as a one-dimensional topic, but as a complex whole made up of many layers. 🧩

Professionals aged 50+ represent one of Europe’s most overlooked sources of talent. The CHANCE (Erasmus+) project shows that their motivation to start a business is remarkably high – reaching up to 67% in some countries — yet their entrepreneurial journey is often blocked by administrative, financial, and psychological barriers. The gap between motivation and reality is striking.👀

Survey data from five European countries reveal sharp contrasts: bureaucracy dominates in Czechia and Slovakia, while access to finance is the biggest hurdle in Croatia and Finland. Digital confidence varies dramatically – from almost no issues in Croatia to major challenges in Czechia and Slovakia. Many respondents also highlight the lack of a support network, mentoring, and community as a significant barrier to getting started.

The “silver economy” is full of highly educated, experienced, and motivated individuals. Unlocking their potential requires structural change: simpler administrative processes, better access to finance, and stronger digital and entrepreneurial support systems. 🎉

Real-world experience in action!🛫🤩

Under the patronage of Associate Professor Emil Velinov, Senior Lecturer and MBA Program Director at , students from the Global Business Management (GBM) and Economics and Sustainable Management (ESM) programs had the opportunity to visit Menzies Aviation at Prague Airport - Letiště Praha.🙌

The visit included a company tour, a lecture on International Operations, and a discussion with Menzies Aviation managers. The program is closely aligned with the courses International and Area Studies and Adaptive Management, which form key pillars of both study programs.📚

We would like to sincerely thank Associate Professor Emil Velinov for organizing this valuable experience for our students. A special highlight of the visit was the opportunity for students to meet their peers from the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) from the United States.🇺🇸

At this year’s PORGMUN 2026 conference, which we were proud to host once again at , hundreds of young delegates experienced what leadership truly means.🌍

During the opening ceremony, our student Matěj Steiner represented the NEWTON community. He highlighted the effort behind organizing such an event and emphasized key future skills-especially the ability to listen, understand different perspectives, and seek compromise.🌱

Guided by our “learning by doing” philosophy, participants actively debated, collaborated, and built new connections.🤝

While sessions took place at NEWTON, the closing ceremony was held at the iconic Prague Castle. We’re proud to support young leaders who know that compromise isn’t a loss—but a path to real consensus.

What an inspiring couple of days in beautiful Prague!🇨🇿

At the beginning of march we gathered for our 𝟮-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 as part of the 𝗘𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗺𝘂𝘀+ 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘, kindly hosted by NEWTON University – and we were delighted to hear such positive feedback on the organization from all participants. 🙌

The CHANCE partnership is moving forward with great energy. 💡Six partners from five countries are currently working together on the development of a 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗖 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝟱𝟬+ who are thinking about starting their own business.

Before taking the entrepreneurial leap, participants will have the chance to 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, explore ideas, build confidence, and discover new opportunities for the next chapter of their professional lives. 🚀 The progress so far is fantastic, and we’re excited to see the course taking shape step by step!
