Young scientists can now apply for a spot in the 2021. The convention in the context of the Science Year will bring together young talents from , foundations and research institutions to discuss future topics and launch visionary research ideas for a bioeconomy. The camp will be held from 30 September to 1 October 2021 in Berlin. Application is possible for young scientists from all disciplines (PhD students or postdocs up to a maximum of three years after their PhD thesis). That is an estimated 17% of all food available to customers in homes, retail outlets and restaurants. Edinburgh-based Celtic Renewables has developed a process that can change whisky waste residue into biofuel. Destilleries in Scotland usually spend about £300,000 a year to dispose of the whiskey redisue. The Scottish company has developed a commercial scale method of turning the unwanted residue of the whisky fermentation process into biofuel capable of fuelling cars. Read more at
