❇️ Prof. Latati Mourad, Brahim farmer, and the Aquaculture Biologist Moussa Conduct Field Mission at the Sétif Demo Site
On August 9 under the framework activities of WATERMELLON Project (prima section 1)
The mission focused on soil sampling and the assessment of sorghum biomass following the first harvest. It also included the collection of final sorghum forage samples for further analysis and feeds quality assessment.
In addition, measurements of the fish growth in the farm natural hill-side were carried out as part of the project's integrated crop–aquaculture activities.
This field mission contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of the project's key indicators and supports the assessment of the integrated and circular agricultural production system developed under the WATERMELLON Project.

❇️ Finalization of the harvesting and silage production of our sorghum, grown in rotation with winter forage crops, as part of the research activities of the WATERMELLON Project (PRIMA Section 1).
This milestone represents another important step toward developing sustainable and climate-resilient forage production systems for livestock farming under integrative and circular agriculture.

✅ Preparation of the final silage product after completing the harvesting of BIO-SORGHO at the Setif demonstration site (WATERMELLON Project – PRIMA Section 1), as part of the research activities led by the University of Skikda partner under WP2 and WP3 tasks. The final product is the first one produced in Algeria under biological agriculture practices without use of both fertilizers and pesticide inputs and under circular production techniques.

✅ HARVEST operation of Bio-Sorgho in Setif demo site under WP2 and 3 activities in WATERMELLON project.
A high-quality organic sorghum silage will be produced and supplied to dairy farmers in the Setif region as a sustainable and nutritious feed source for milk production.
