طفل بيتعدل جيناته جوا جسمه… والعالم اتقلب! 👶🧬

فيه خبر نزل الأسبوع ده لو قريته من غير ما تقول “إيه ده!” يبقى أكيد فيك حاجة!

طفل رضيع عنده مرض نادر جدًا اسمه CPS1 Deficiency، يعني جسمه مش قادر يتعامل مع البروتين، وكل مرة ياكل فيها شوية بروتين، جسمه بيحوّلهم لحاجة سامة… حرفيًا الأكل ممكن يقتله! 🍗☠️

اللي حصل؟
العلماء في مستشفى الأطفال في فيلادلفيا (CHOP) قرروا يجرّبوا معاه علاج محدش عمله قبل كده على كوكب الأرض 🌍:

الـCRISPR… بس جوه الجسم مش في المعمل! 🧪

يعني إيه؟
يعني بدل ما ياخدوا خلاياه ويعدلوها برا ويرجعوها، لا… حقنوا أداة التعديل الجيني جوه جسمه مباشرة! جسمه هو اللي بدأ يعدل جيناته بنفسه!

💉🧬 اسم التقنية:
Base Editingالـ
وده نوع ألطف من CRISPR التقليدي، بيعدل قاعدة واحدة في الـDNA من غير ما “يكسر” الجين بالكامل.

الجرعة الأولى تم إعطاؤها في فبراير 2025 وقت كان عمره ما بين 6-7 شهور فقط! وبعدها كانت جرعات تانية في مارس وإبريل، وكلها طالعة كويس جدًا.

النتيجة؟ 😱
•الطفل بدأ ياكل بروتين أكتر
•قللوا له الدوا اللي كان بيعتمد عليه
•مفيش أعراض جانبية خطيرة ظهرت
•وعمال يتعافى من نزلات البرد زي أي طفل طبيعي

CRISPR turns back time in mouse 🐁 brains 🧠

Scientists have used CRISPR to reverse aging in mouse brains by targeting a gene 🧬 called Slc2a4.

This boosted stem cell activity in older mice, helping them produce new neurons.

A major step toward potential therapies for neurodegenerative diseases!

استخدم العلماء تقنية CRISPR لعكس آثار الشيخوخة في أدمغة الفئران من خلال استهداف جين يُسمى Slc2a4. أدى ذلك إلى تعزيز نشاط الخلايا الجذعية في الفئران الأكبر سنًا، مما ساعدها على إنتاج خلايا عصبية جديدة.
