"Bayda anna" is a highly formal conjunctive phrase equivalent to "however" or "but." It is used in literary, academic, and official contexts. It often introduces a contrasting point after a statement. It is more elegant than "lakinna."

مثال:
Arabic: حقق الفريق نتائج جيدة، بيد أن المنافسة لا تزال قوية.
Transliteration: Haqqaqa al-fareeq nata'ij jayyidah, bayda anna al-munafasah la tazal qawiyyah.
English: The team achieved good results, however the competition remains strong.
