The interrupted coasts
I, Mohamed Abdel Nasser Ibrahim (Nasser ElDeek), present myself to my fellow
geology colleagues.
With a slight modification to what was mentioned about the phenomena
supporting the continental drift theory (by the scientist Alfred Wegener) ...
We can describe the coastlines that were once connected and then separated
due to tectonic plate movement as "disconnected coastlines" and not "similar
coastlines" as mentioned in the references, as evidence of Alfred Wegener's
theory (continental drift). God has guided me to make this correction to be
accurate and reflect the geological changes that have occurred over the ages.
Why did you use the description "disconnected coasts"?
A — Indication of the previous unity: This description indicates that these
coasts were once part of a single landmass in the past, and then separated due
to tectonic forces.
B - Emphasizing geological change: It highlights the dynamic nature of the
Earth's surface and how it changes over time.
Ease of understanding: It provides a simplified and clear description of a complex phenomenon
