A field Visit by the Korean WooSong University to the Faculties of Engineering, Computers and Technology at Sohag University to begin activating the Joint Cooperation Protocol
Sohag University received a delegation from Woosung University of Korea, as part of the activation of the cooperation protocol signed between the two universities to enhance the aspects of academic and research partnership between the two sides, as part of the university’s keenness to expand its network of international relations, and to enhance strategic partnerships with prestigious international universities.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, the university president, said that the visit is the beginning of executing the procedures for activating the joint cooperation protocol, which was signed with Dr. Deog-Seong Oh, president of President Emeritus University, Woosong, Korea, at the university’s headquarters in South Korea, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the two universities and developing the opportunities for the academic exchange in the fields of teaching, scientific research and other joint activities.
Al-Nu'many added that working groups from both universities have been formed to develop and implement an executive plan for the proposed programs in the fields of artificial intelligence, providing specialized training for students in the Railway Technology program at faculty of Technology and Education, and launching training courses offered by Wosong University in the field of cosmetology, the university is also exploring the possibility of establishing a branch of Woosong University within Sohag University, as well as facilitating staff and student exchanges and joint research project
Dr. Ashraf Akasha, Director of the International Relations Center at the university, stated that Dr. Kalu Ibn, Director of International Relations at the Korean university, conducted an inspection tour of several faculties. The visit included faculty of Engineering and faculty of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Education, where he was briefed on the laboratories, classrooms and modern equipment, and expressed his admiration for the remarkable development the university has witnessed in its infrastructure and educational capabilities, which opens new horizons for students and researchers, and supports the position of the two universities at the regional and international levels.

Sohag University opens broad horizons for scientific and academic cooperation with Merit University.
Al-Nu'many: The university is keen to strengthen regional alliances to implement higher education and scientific research strategy and achieve comprehensive development.
Al-Nu'many: We seek to build strong development alliances with the universities in Upper Egypt that embody integration among higher education institutions.
President of Merit University: Many thanks to the prestigious Sohag University, which has opened up broad avenues for scientific and academic cooperation.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu'many, President of Sohag University, received Dr. Sawsan Abdel Hamid Morsi, President of Merit University, and Dr. Nabil Nour El-Din, former President of Sohag University and Vice President of Merit University, to sign a number of scientific and academic cooperation agreements.
In accordance with and implementation of the recommendations of the "South Upper Egypt Universities Alliance Conference," and in the presence of Dr. Magdy El-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine.
During the meeting, Al-Nu'many praised the cooperation with Merit University, the first newly established private university in the governorate, stressing that the university administration is keen to strengthen regional alliances to implement the higher education and scientific research strategy and achieve comprehensive development and Egypt's Vision 2030, in addition to the university's endeavor to build strong development alliances with universities in Upper Egypt.
This embodies the integration between higher education and scientific research institutions, noting that concluding such agreements enhances and supports academic and training cooperation between governmental, private and community universities in the region, and raises the efficiency of the educational and research system, hoping that the agreements will achieve the common goals and objectives between the two parties.
From her part, Dr. Sawsan Abdel Hamid expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the President of the University for his keenness to extend bridges of communication and cooperation with various higher education institutions, and to provide all aspects of assistance and support to improve and develop the educational system and raising the scientific and training level of university students, by providing a distinguished educational and training environment for its students, praising the fruitful and distinguished cooperation with the prestigious Sohag University, between the two faculties of medicine at the two universities.
Dr. Nabil Nour El-Din said that a number of cooperation agreements were concluded between the two faculties of medicine, as the first protocol stipulated the training of resident doctors at Faculty of Medicine at Merit University within the university hospitals in Sohag as a visiting resident doctor.
The second protocol also stipulated that students at Faculty of Medicine at Merit University would be trained in the university's Faculty of Medicine hospitals.

Coinciding with the Opening of Shifa Children's Hospital... Sohag University receives a Dutch Grant of 65 million Egyptian pounds to support the Latest Physical Therapy Unit for Children with Disabilities
As part of the final preparations for the official launch of Shifa Children's University Hospital, a gift from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the children of Upper Egypt, Sohag University Hospitals announced the receipt of a medical grant from the Dutch Stichting Achet Foundation worth 65 million pounds, it includes the latest specialized medical equipment and supplies, in support of the healthcare system provided to children, especially children with disabilities.
In this context, Dr. Hassan Al-Nu'many, President of Sohag University, inspected the equipment, which includes the establishment of a fully equipped pediatric physiotherapy department, the most modern of its kind within university hospitals, and equipped with the latest medical technologies, which contributes to providing advanced rehabilitation services for children with physical and intellectual disabilities.
He added that this grant comes as part of an integrated support package from the Dutch Foundation worth £200 million.
Al-Nu’many expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, for the full support in facilitating the procedures for accepting the medical grant. He also expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority and all concerned parties. Because of the speed of response and coordination it demonstrated, it contributed to the completion of the necessary technical and legal procedures.

The President of Sohag University honors the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Directors of the university's accounting units in recognition of their efforts.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, honored Abdul Hamid Muhammad Abdul Hamid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and the directors of the accounting units at the university and university hospitals, and the accounting agents, in appreciation of their efforts in completing the financial and accounting work at the university, in the presence of Accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, in the University Council Hall at the old campus.
Al-Nu’many praised the efforts and work of those honored in preserving public funds through activating internal control, working within the team system, and full cooperation with the university, as they are the financial shield protecting the university.

For the first time, the President of Sohag University receives the Nursing Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities and discusses Mechanisms to support Nursing Faculties and Developments related to Teaching and Training.

Dr. Hassan Al-Nu'many, President of Sohag University, received members of the Nursing Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Suhair Badr El-Din, Chair of the Committee, and Dr. Nadia Taha, Rapporteur of the Committee.
The meeting was attended by members of the committee, including deans of nursing faculties from various Egyptian universities. Dr. Nadia Saleh, Dean of the faculty, the faculty’s vice deans, heads of departments, and staff members were also present.
Al-Nu’many welcomed the university’s distinguished guests, especially the head of the committee, for their keenness to visit the university for the first time. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the attendees, including professors and deans of nursing faculties from various Egyptian universities, emphasizing that Sohag University is one of the prestigious Egyptian universities that has received great attention from the political leadership.
She succeeded in attracting attention and admiration thanks to the integrity of her students and their determination to advance and elevate the university's name.
Dr. Suhair Badr El-Din exchanged thanks and appreciation to the university president, expressing her delight at visiting the university and meeting this distinguished group of professors and university leaders, and wishing the university administration continued progress and prosperity.

Dr. Nadia Saleh added that the meeting also addressed topics related to qualifying nursing graduates to meet the needs of the labor market, and how to develop their professional and scientific skills and abilities to compete strongly in the field of nursing, in addition to discussing some issues related to the nursing sector in Egypt, and proposing some solutions to finally eliminate such problems.

Al-Nu'many welcomes the Stars of the "University Theater" Judging Panel, Sameh Hussein and Liqaa Sweidan
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, received artist Sameh Hussein and artist Liqaa Sweidan, members of the jury of the sixth “Teatro” Festival for theatrical performances, organized by the Cultural and Artistic Activity Department of the Central Youth Welfare Administration, with the participation of 170 male and female students, representing 12 faculties of the university, in the stage of the Grand Conference Hall in the old university campus.
Al-Nu’many welcomed the stars of art and creativity, thanking them for accepting the invitation and giving the students an opportunity to learn from their artistic experiences, in a unique and inspiring experience with the theatrical performances participating in the festival.
It is worth mentioning that the festival's opening ceremony will begin shortly, followed by 8 student theatrical performances: The Story of Saeed Al-Wazzan by the students of faculty of Technology and Education, Shafika and Metwally by the students of faculty of Arts, Spartus by the students of faculty of Pharmacy, and Fragma by the students of faculty of Specific Education.
The plays are: "The Story of Teatro" for the Faculty of Engineering, "When My Soul Left" for the Faculty of Agriculture, and "The River" for the Faculty of Archaeology.

Sohag University signs a New International Partnership to enhance its academic cooperation with the signing of a protocol with the Russian Ural Federal University
Sohag University continues to strengthen its international academic presence by signing a cooperation protocol with the Russian Ural Federal University (UrFU). Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, and Dr. Victor Koksharov, President of Ural University, signed a joint cooperation protocol in a number of scientific and research fields.
Al-Nu'many affirmed that the university is committed to building bridges of scientific and research collaboration with international academic institutions to create outstanding educational and research opportunities and innovative initiatives that serve both our academic community and Egyptian society. He added that the university has signed approximately six protocols with prestigious international universities in the recent period.
Approximately 34 bilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of the university's participation in the International Conference on Higher Education in Sweden and the QS Conference in South Korea.
Al-Nu'many stated that the protocol aims to foster cooperation in a wide range of areas, including student and staff exchange, practical training, and the implementation of joint research projects.
In addition to supporting the development of distinguished programs at Sohag University, especially in the fields of engineering, renewable energy, advanced technology, and languages and translation, the agreement was signed on the sidelines of Sohag University's participation in the activities of the Fifth Forum of the Union of Arab-Russian University Presidents.
Dr. Ashraf Akasha, Director of the Center for International Relations and International Cooperation at Sohag University, pointed out that the protocol that was signed stipulates the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students to implement short and long-term training programs in research institutes at Ural University, and the exchange of staff members and experts in engineering and humanities fields, implementing joint research projects in the fields of technology, energy and artificial intelligence, in addition to organizing joint conferences and workshops between the two universities, and cooperating in joint academic programs and professional diplomas.

The President of Sohag University congratulates the Supreme Council of Universities for obtaining ISO accreditation as the First National Body Accredited by EGAC!
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, congratulated Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, on the occasion of obtaining the international conformity certificates (ISO).
As the first national entity in Egypt to obtain this accreditation from the National Accreditation Council (EGAC), including the ISO 37000:2021 Corporate Governance Certificate and the ISO 30401:2018 Knowledge Management System Certificate,
Al-Nu'many praised the outstanding efforts made by the Supreme Council of Universities in developing the university system and enhancing the quality of educational and administrative services.

48 million pounds donated by Banque Misr Foundation to Shifa Children's Hospital at Sohag University.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu'many, President of Sohag University, announced that Banque Misr donated 48 million pounds to equip the intensive care unit at Shifa Children's University Hospital as a gift from President El-Sisi. This donation is based on the cooperation protocol signed with Mr. Essam El-Wakil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr, and the Banque Misr Social Foundation.
Dr. Magdy El-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ali El-Saidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation and former Minister of Electricity, Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Jaafar, Director of Shifa Children’s Hospital, and Heba Hussein, Executive Director of the Foundation, at the bank’s headquarters in Cairo.
Al-Nu’many stressed that the university is working diligently and cooperating with all community institutions to complete the equipping and furnishing of Shifa Children’s Hospital as quickly as possible, in preparation for its anticipated presidential opening, especially since operating the hospital has become an urgent necessity that cannot be postponed because it will have a direct impact on supporting health services for the children of Upper Egypt and meeting their treatment needs, as it is a model and an advanced medical facility in Sohag University.
Al-Nu’many praised the efforts of Banque Misr, which always provides a positive model to be emulated in social responsibility, especially in supporting distinguished medical institutions to contribute to ensuring that citizens receive the health services they need with a distinguished degree of quality.
He explained that this cooperation is not new, as the Bank of Egypt Foundation equipped two operating rooms in the new Specialized Surgery Hospital last January at a total value of 9 million and 500 thousand pounds, and also donated 6 intensive care beds to university hospitals, with all their equipment at a cost of 5 million pounds.
Dr. Magdy El-Qadi stated that Shefaa Children's Hospital is situated on an area of 5.6 acres and is considered the largest children's medical complex in the country, with a total cost exceeding one billion Egyptian pounds. It consists of a basement, a ground floor, and six upper floors, and includes 263 beds, 122 patient rooms, 17 outpatient clinics, three endoscopy rooms, five operating rooms, in addition to dialysis units and a neonatal intensive care unit.

The President of Sohag University continues his Academic Role and delivers a Lecture to Medical Students on Congenital Brachial Plexus Palsy
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, continued his academic role within Faculty of Medicine, where he delivered a scientific lecture to the seniors of the faculty on “Nerve Plexus Paralysis Resulting from Pull During Birth,” as part of his constant commitment to supporting the educational process and raising the level of clinical training for students.
During the lecture, Al-Nu’many said that brachial plexus palsy is one of the injuries that newborns may suffer as a result of incorrect pulling or tugging during birth, explaining that early diagnosis and proper therapeutic intervention are key factors in improving the chances of recovery.
During the lecture, Al-Nu’many discussed the definition of the injury, its causes, types, and methods of clinical examination, in addition to the latest available treatment methods and the microsurgeries used in repairing the nerve plexus. He also reviewed a number of practical cases with the aim of developing students’ skills and linking the theoretical aspect with practical application.
The students expressed their happiness with the lecture, which gave them the opportunity to benefit from the university president’s expertise in the field of microsurgery, stressing the importance of such lectures, which include practical training, in enhancing their skills before graduation.

A doctoral Dissertation at Sohag University reveals Advanced Techniques for Ankle Tssue Repair
Supervision and Discussion Committee
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu'many, President of Sohag University and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, chaired the discussion and supervision committee for a doctoral dissertation that is considered one of the advanced research in the field of orthopedic surgery and techniques for repairing tissues around the ankle, belonging to Dr. Ahmed Faisal Ismail Mahmoud, Assistant Lecturer of Orthopedic Surgery at Faculty of Medicine. The thesis was presented in the presence of the supervising and examining committee professors and a group of physicians from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the International Conference Center in the new university campus.
The thesis was titled “A Comparative Study Between the Modified Calf Flap and the Anterolateral Femoral Flap for Covering Missing Tissue Around the Ankle.” which dealt with a scientific comparison between the latest surgical techniques used in soft tissue repair, with the aim of improving treatment outcomes for patients suffering from tissue loss in the ankle area.
During the discussion, Al-Nu’many praised the research effort made in the thesis, explaining that the university pays great attention to advanced surgical research because of its direct impact on the development of health services, as the thesis is an important scientific addition in the field of orthopedic and reconstructive surgery, and he stressed the university’s continued support for researchers and its encouragement of them to present studies that serve the needs of patients and society.
Al-Nu'many stated that the thesis addressed a number of cases whose operations were performed within the Microsurgery Unit at Sohag University Hospitals, which is considered one of the distinguished units in this field and provides precise surgical services at the highest level. He emphasized that such studies enhance the capabilities of medical staff and contribute to raising the efficiency of performance within university hospitals.
Dr. Mahmoud Sadiq Abdel-Nabi, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Graduate Studies and Research, an external examiner, expressed his happiness at being present at Sohag University, stressing that it is one of the distinguished scientific institutions in Egypt, with its actual capabilities and clear support for scientific research, and the remarkable development that the university is witnessing in educational and medical services.
