In Memory of D-Day, 6 of June 1944. I dug out and posting my 2001 Architecture degree final project at Université de Montréal. The project was a WWII Memorial located on-site where the Canadian forces landed at Courseuilles sur Mer, Normandy, France. The beach was code-named Juno Beach.
It was for me a very moving response on a topic that I studied for 2 semesters in memory of those young brave soldiers who were about my age at the time. The project earned a few honours such as the André Francou Scholarship for a trip in Europe, Nominated at the Canadian Architect Student project of the year, the UdM Architecture school Principal selected it for a Gold Medal at the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada @ Juno Beach
