European and international business law Master's alumni Welcome to the official Alumni page of the Master European and international business law from Mykolas Romeris and Savoie Mont Blanc Universities.

The objective of this joint master study programme is to prepare highly qualified business law specialists, who are able to provide legal advice in the transnational and European business environment, to explain the latest business law issues and trends, to analyse and assess business-related legal situations, promptly and effectively deal with legal problems faced by business, conduct research an

Another 12 EIBL students have successfully defended their master's theses and will receive master's degrees from two partner universities. Biggest congratulations to them! It is a great pleasure to observe how students grow as individuals during the two years of study in Lithuania and France, how they confidently defend their research results before the joint defence commission, how they turn into legal experts with a broad European perspective.

The annual Karl A. Lamers Peace Prize Contest is over again, and the results are very encouraging. This time, all three prizes were won by students of the EIBL program! First Prize (1000 Euros) went to Ivanna Horaichuk, the Second place prize (600 Euros) went to Vladimir Komarnickiy, and the Third Prize (400 Euros) was awarded to Marita Gorgiladze. Karl A. Lamers made personal phone calls to the winners to congratulate them with their accomplishment.

Lamers is an influential German politician, formerly a veteran member of the German Bundestag and a member of the Defence Committee of the Bundestag, also former President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Dr. Lamers is also an honorary doctor of MRU. In 2018, Karl A. Lamers initiated the Peace Foundation that carries his name. The Foundation sponsors contests of university student essays on security and defence issues in different EU countries. In Lithuania, the contest takes place at the MRU for the 4th year in a row, and in all competitions, students from EIBL Program were among the winners of this prestigious prize: Ana Šurpickaja (1st Prize in 2019), Rimvydas Pekauskas (3rd Prize in 2020), as well as Veronika Horchakova (1st Prize in 2021).

We are very proud to announce that Veronika Horchakova, 2nd year student of EIBL Program, has been awarded the First Prize (1000 Euros) of the Karl A. Lamers Essay Contest.
The topic of the contest this year was: NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg refers to 2021 as a year of opportunity to re-energize transatlantic relations and to strengthen the bond between Europe and North America. What significance would this have for the Baltic States and how can Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia contribute to strengthen the transatlantic partnership?

Today (15 November 2021), within the frame of the course on European and International Company Law, a lecture on topic 'Sustainability and the role of company law' was presented by Beate Sjåfjell, a Professor of Law at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Law, as well as Adjunct Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Faculty of Economics and Management. She is also a Visiting Professor at College of Europe, European Legal Studies Department. Professor Sjåfjell is founder and head of the Oslo Faculty’s Research Group Companies, Markets and Sustainability (the Company Law Group), which is now in its second period (2017-2022), as well as of several international networks and projects.

We are very proud to announce that Rimvydas Pekauskas, 2nd year student of our Programme, has been awarded the 3rd Prize of the Karl A. Lamers Essay Contest. In 2020, the students participated in the Contest and wrote an essay on the topic offered by Karl A. Lamers: ‘In 2020, NATO is facing three major challenges: Great Power rivalry, international terrorism and humanitarian crises. Which priorities should the Alliance set from the perspective of the Baltic states?’.
Elina Morhunova, our Programme‘s alumni, was also ranked among the six winners of this Contest.
It is already becoming a nice tradition that every year among the winners of this prestigious prize are students of our Program. Last year, our Programme’s alumni (2019) Ana Šurpickaja has been awarded the 1st Prize of the Karl A. Lamers Essay Contest.
Dr. Karl A. Lamers is a long-time member of the German Bundestag and the former President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Dr. Lamers is also an honorary doctor of MRU. He personally came to MRU to congratulate the winners during one of events dedicated for MRU’s 30-year Anniversary.

We are proud to announce that Mykolas Romeris University's (MRU) Law School has improved its position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020. Last year, MRU Law School was the only Lithuanian university ranked in the area of law in the 251-300 position. This year in the 2020 ratings, MRU Law School increased its ranking by 50 positions and for the first time in the history of Lithuania's higher education positioned itself among TOP250 LAW globally ( #214 position), and looking only at Region of Central and Eastern Europe – among TOP7 law schools.
