We co-hosted the first of hopefully many conversations on repair and reuse culture at University of Bristol and beyond! To celebrate the International Repair Day in our own way, the gathering aimed to raise awareness of Bristol's repair and reuse ecosystem starting from the story of Share Bristol Library of Things and Repair Cafe movement at UWE, our participants enjoyed mingling asking questions but especially offering ideas for creating services or situations at university level to build more repair awareness!

From an idea to an award-winning startup.

Meet VULKOS, a student-founded startup from the University of Bristol’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CfIE). At this year’s Innovation Showcase and Runway Awards, the team impressed the judges with their pitch, taking home the Runway Pitch Award and £15,000 in funding.
We sat down with the founders to hear about their journey, the challenges they’ve overcome, and what’s next for VULKOS.

Quick snapshots from the Year 2 UG Innovation student Showcase! In the context of the unit Solving Someone's Problem, 18 interdisciplinary teams presented various concepts of sustainable systems, campaigns, digital products and services for Temple Quarter developments in through the lens of four different organisations and briefs: How might TQ be made more vibrant and welcoming? How might TQ partnerships strengthen local journalism? How might TQ place-making benefit from AI-driven insights? How might TQ empower flexible schooling for young people?
