What do you wish you knew before you graduated?

We are busy preparing comms for our class of 2026 students graduating this year. We want to ensure they have lots of practical information, good tips, and resources they can refer back to.

We are seeking feedback from our alumni...Are there any resources and advice you wish you had to prepare you better for life after uni?

We really value the views and opinions of our alumni community. Thanks so much for your time.

We are in Lancaster this week for and we present to you the presidents of the St Martin’s College Students Union...

Which president was your era?

You can see this on campus upstairs in the Donald Coggan Building. It's just one of many 'archive' items we have on display throughout campus to show off our proud history.

Future Focus...

“The support, teaching and sense of community are exceptional... you will not regret it!”

Registered nurse Rebecca is studying MSc Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Cumbria, a journey shaped by compassion, professional experience, and a strong commitment to patient care. She studies via distance learning, allowing her to balance postgraduate study with living and working on the Isle of Man.

Reflecting on her experience, Rebecca says: “Despite studying remotely, I still feel fully immersed in university life and very well supported by all my tutors. The online platform used for classes and course content is of a very high quality, with live sessions and regular check‑ins from my academic assessor.”

You can read more about Rebecca’s story over on our website...

What are you up to now... Angela Shayer, class of 2001, Media Production

Meet Angela, the Media Production grad who turned a final-year work placement into a high-flying career as a Head of Production in Canada. From meeting her husband Vince on their first day in halls to raising two bilingual "Star Wars" fans and a pug named Indiana Bones, Angela’s life today is a world away from what her 21-year-old self imagined.

Views from campus... with Adrian Copping

Adrian Copping didn't just study at St Martin’s in the 90s, he liked it so much he never really left! Now leading our PGCE primary programmes, Adrian reflects on how the Lancaster campus has evolved, his "lightbulb moment" inspired by Dead Poets Society, and the one spot on campus with the absolute best view of Morecambe Bay.
