There were plenty of smiles as our Cookstown SEN students enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream treat to celebrate the start of another exciting year at SWC!✨

Students from Health & Social Care and Applied Science across both Omagh and Dungannon campuses had a fantastic morning at the Ulster University Magee Open Day.

Students had the opportunity to attend a range of workshops and speak with university staff and current students about a variety of courses, including Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy and Paramedic Science, to name just a few.

A great opportunity for our students to explore their future career and study options!

A fantastic day of inspiration for our Hospitality and Catering students at Dungannon Campus! 👨‍🍳✨

Students heard from some of the best in the business, including former SWC student and chef Chef Stevie B , Nina from The Burnt Chef Project , and Jonny Elliott, chef and owner of Edo Belfast and Beau.belfast in Belfast.

From career journeys and running a business to mental health and wellbeing in the hospitality industry, our students gained plenty of insight and inspiration as they begin their own journey.

Who knows, maybe one day they’ll be back at SWC sharing their own success stories! 🙌

🏆 Congratulations to Ellie Carvill, one of our Foundation Degree Travel & Tourism Students, who has been named NI Travel Student of the Year 2026!

Ellie impressed judges with her outstanding knowledge and passion for the travel industry during the final assessments at the NI Travel News Headquarters.

This is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant recognition of Ellie’s hard work, dedication and enthusiasm for the industry. Ellie will receive her award at the 34th Northern Ireland Travel & Tourism Awards next month.

Congratulations, Ellie we are incredibly proud of you! 👏🎉

Big Congrats to 2 of our HLA students, Dairagh and Daniel, on passing your Chartered Accountants Ireland final exams!

We are delighted to congratulate Dairagh McCrory and Daniel Burns on passing their Chartered Accountants Ireland final examinations.

Dairagh and Daniel joined Gildernew & Co. as school leavers from St. Joseph's Grammar School and St. Patrick's Academy Dungannon in September 2022. Almost four years to the day, they received the fantastic news that they had successfully completed their final chartered accountancy final exams, having also completed the Higher Level Apprenticeship course at South West College along the way.

Their achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment over the past four years. We are incredibly proud of what they have accomplished and the professionalism they have demonstrated throughout their training.

When the results arrived, they proudly declared themselves “the youngest Chartered Accountants in town!”. Who are we to disagree!! 🤩

Well done, Dairagh and Daniel. We are extremely proud of you both.
