🐾🐾🎈Ok, this is a bit surreal. But I'm writing a lot at the moment, so words coagulate.

Title: Cerberus's Twin

My birthday is a dog with two heads.
It can go either way.
Bite or doggy smile.

Or wag its tail. (Only one tail.)

Today I'll take Orthos for a walk

And watch him? Her? Bound over the hills.

Both tongues lolling in time to a lolloping run.

Putting these ideas together, I realise that the training room is an ecosystem. 🌿

In a traditional model, education can be a one-way street: the teacher gives, and the student receives.
But a living ecosystem doesn't work that way. We are interdependent. 🕸️
Every single student who joins our community brings their own unique "biodiversity"—their distinct background, stories, and frame of reference. 🌍🎨🧬

Students actively change the environment. ⚡ They introduce new energy and challenge old perspectives. We are changed together.
As they grow, I grow alongside them.

To teach or learn is to be transformed. 🦋✨

😀I say one thing too often - and it's become a running joke;‼️ 'It's in the handbook.'

The phrase made it onto a t-shirt.

There is something in this that feels very TAC. Our structures matter and they take time to craft. The handbook giudes your journey. And it is too big!

And somehow, along the way, it all becomes something you wear lightly.

Most of us arrive in the therapeutic relationship carrying one more than the other.

Certainty has its place. It offers steadiness, a sense of ground beneath the feet. But in Transactional Analysis, it is curiosity that tends to open the doors. The willingness to not know. To sit with what is unresolved and stay present to it anyway.

In TA we call this the Adult ego state. Engaged, open, responsive to what is actually happening rather than what we expect to find.

It is also, perhaps not coincidentally, the quality that makes a good trainee. And a good therapist.
