🦄🏳️‍🌈Annual General Meeting🏳️‍⚧️🦄
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for academic year 2023-2024 will be held between 19:00-20:30 on the 19th of April in 50 George Square_2.03.

🫵AGM is the time of the year that current society members apply for committee roles for the next year.

🫵To apply any of the positions, you have to:
- Resonate with EdiUniCorn values (Some of the core values are listed below in the pinned post).
- Be a member of EdiUniCorn (Find the membership purchase guide in the pinned post).

🫵We expect the applicants:
- Are affiliated with or Edinburgh. A current student, alumni, someone currently live in the area urged for a change, etc.
- Are familiar with some of the East and Southeast Asian cultures.
- Are Q***r
- Have relevant experiences

💌If you wish to apply for the committee position, PLEASE FILL YOUR BASIC INFO THROUGH THE 🔗LINK (post soon) anytime in advance of the AGM day.

🧧🏮Lantern-Making Workshop - Lantern Festival in ESEA🏮🧧
✨Next Sunday, the 5th of February, is the Lantern Festival. It’s the first day of the full moon after the Lunar New Year and marks the end of New Year celebrations.
✨We’re holding a Lantern-Making workshop on Thursday, the 2nd of February, to celebrate the Lantern Festival. Thanks to who provided us with the beautiful DIY package.
*** In this workshop, we are NOT making the traditional round and red lanterns, but the modern and creative ones, please see pictures in this post as references.😊

🦄🏳️‍⚧️Transgender awareness screening 🏳️‍⚧️—Xiaodi晓迪🦄

❗️Trigger warning: abuse and conversion therapy.

✨On the 17th birthday of transgender girl Huang Xiaodi, the whole family gathered to celebrate her birthday. After dinner, her parents asked her to get in the car and take her to buy a birthday present. However, what awaited her was not the store, but an "Internet addiction school" on Gele Mountain in Chongqing. They believed that this would convert Xiaodi and make her a "normal" boy. Trapped in a "private prison", Xiaodi learned to give in. In the face of violence and humiliation, she suffered disgrace to won the trust of instructors. Under her patience, a chance to escape finally came.

🏳‍⚧🦄Friday Trans Awareness Sign Making🦄🏳‍⚧

✨For the forthcoming Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance, we collaborate with .soc and .lgbt.law to hold a Sign Making Session on the 18th of November, 6-8pm at Teviot Lounge. The banners and signs made in this session will be placed outside and inside Teviot during the Vigil on the 21st of November, held by the Trans and Non-binary and LGBT+ Liberation Campaigns.

✨Paints, colour pens and cardboard will be prepared but the amount may not be enough for everyone, so please do bring your favourite colour paints and pens with you if you have some.

💄This Wednesday evening, we will follow Eddie, our transgender protagonist, on a trip to Tokyo in the 1960s and meet with the local underground gay society, glimpse into their drama and trauma.

Asexual people are estimated to be approximately 1% of the population. How much do you know about them? Do you want to understand a bit more about asexual experiences?
