double feature!!! as we head into the end of the year our wee society has been up to a lot and as you can see there’s a lot happening in and around us as well!!!

as this is our current committees second to last edition of the newspaper we’d love to encourage those who might want a taste of society life in the next academic year to reach out to us by email or here on instagram. we’ve had an absolute blast and hope to pass the torch onto the next generation of passionate students!!!

Thank you so much to .writes for having some of our committee members and the incredible Professor Alan Riach along to her event!!!

we got to conduct a small research project into the Alasdair Gray mural at Palacerigg Country Park and its connections to author and naturalist David Stephen!!!

we all had an absolute blast with this project and couldn’t be more appreciative of the opportunity. Check out the rest of Amy’s event over on her page and more details to come in our next newsletter!!!

A special thanks to the ‘s Sorcha Dallas who offered so much insight and was an essential contributor in the creation of our presentation!!!

Calling action on Scotlit Film club semester two! 🎬

Exciting times ahead! Kicking off with I Swear (2025), in partnership with the English language and linguistics department, followed by an added bonus Q&A at the ARC. As you may see from the poster this event is ticketed, so check out bio for the link to reserve your FREE ticket on Eventbrite (and hurry they are being snapped up fast!)

The rest of the screenings will be again held in the Boyd Orr, of course all completely free and there are no tickets required for these, just bring your lovely selves! 📽️🎞️

We will post reminders on our stories as we approach each screening so keep an eye out for those!

Are you a student at a British university and identify as Welsh, English, Scottish and/or British. You are invited to participate in a questionnaire about how you view your national identity. This research is for a PhD project titled Young Adults and New Citizens: The Social Construction of National Identity and State Affiliation in Contemporary Britain. The project is being carried out by Betsi Doyle at Cardiff University and funded by the Welsh Graduate School of Social Sciences.
