KU Midwifery Society This page is for the KU Midwifery Society. We pride ourselves in supporting midwifery students at Kingston University by holding educational midwifery events.

The membership is FREE. Thank you for joining the KU Midwifery Society! We would like to welcome you to join in at our fund raising and educational events that we will organise throughout the year. There will be many social events for you to get to know your fellow midwifery students. We will also have topic and guideline discussion as well as large seminars with guest speakers. ⭐️President (overseer, management)

⭐️Secretary (meeting minutes, correspondence)

⭐️Treasurer (keeps track of finances/funding applications)

⭐️Events officer (organise events)

⭐️Media officer (post events and news on social media)

The union have informed us that only those who have joined the midwifery society can run for and vote. Voting will commence on Friday 19th April from 11 am-7 pm

Dear Kingston University Students,

I am Guldane Damla KAYA, I am a postgraduate researcher in Health Sciences at the University of Surrey. I am a midwife and worked for four years at a state hospital in Turkey as a midwife.

I am going to recruitment of Kingston University BSc Midwifery students for my PhD study. I have ethics approval for my research.

It's not just a change in your baby's regular pattern of movements that you can call your Maternity Unit about. If you have any concerns about your pregnancy, please don't wait til Monday or your next appointment, the midwives and nurses are working all weekend and happy to take your calls ☎️

In March, the Kingston University - Nursing Society and KU Midwifery Society invited Arlene Wellman to speak about the long view in the NHS and share her story about working both internationally and locally. We discussed leadership and how we can work together to make changes.
