We're super excited for our first trip of the year! This time, we're heading to Great Douk, a personal favourite of mine, with its amazing formations and waterfalls. No caving experience? No worries! This cave is perfect for all skill levels.

The details: meet us by Sultans on campus at 16:45 on Thursday. We'll take care of the gear; just bring a change of clothes, a towel, and snacks.

To join this trip, you'll need a membership - check our story and highlights for details on how to get one. Tickets will be released on Sunday at 2pm and A step-by-step guide on buying tickets will be up soon!

Hi everyone, we’re having hustings for next year’s LUSS exec on Monday the 26th of May at 6.30 pm! Location TBD but it will be on campus. A virtual poll will also be made and advertised via our WhatsApp group to any who cannot attend in person.

The roles we’re looking for are:

- President
• liaise with student union, completes necessary paperwork
• delegate tasks to other execs
• drives direction of society

- Vice president
• Assists president with student union and British caving association paperwork
• Helps organise council of northern caving clubs training trips
• Assists and fills in for other roles as needed

- Secretary
• Acts as first point of contact for society
• Puts up trip tickets
• Sends update and trip emails to members

- Treasurer
• makes yearly budget
• handles incoming and outgoing finances of society
• approves/denies new gear requests

- Social Secretary
• organises socials
• helps manage social media accounts
• distributes trip photos to members

- Gear officer
• Conducts gear inventory
• Ensures gear is clean and safe to use
• Loans gear out to members before/after trips

- Publicity officer
• Manages Social Media accounts
• Creates promotional material for Freshers Fair
