University Ethics Sub-Committee - Lay Member required.
We are seeking a second lay member to join St Mary’s University Ethics Sub-Committee to attend alternate meetings 6 times a year on a voluntary basis, normally on a Wednesday at 2pm. The Ethics Sub-Committee considers all University research projects at level 3 (high risk) which involve human participants, human tissue, or databases of personal information. We are particularly interested in identifying suitably qualified and experienced people with career backgrounds in research, the NHS, audit/risk management, vulnerable groups, and the legal profession, but people from outside these fields should not be deterred from applying. Individuals should have the ability to form balanced judgments and help ensure that the University’s research is carried out in accordance with our ethical principles and public accountability. For more information please email [email protected].
