I was pleasantly surprised to be given the opportunity to be the leading author of a paper due for publication this year. As a recent graduate, being able to apply my knowledge into a meaningful publication was an incredibly gratifying experience, and allowed me to understand what it would be like as a full time academic researcher - the goal I aspire for in the future. I was also able to gain some really enriching field experiences, including bird ringing and surveys in Doñana. My supervisor was friendly and supportive, and as my job allowed me flexibility, I could spend my free time exploring Andalucia and of course Doñana National Park. Overall, this position was highly valuable to my career development, and helped improve my skills as a biological researcher. I had an amazing time in Seville, and I would highly recommend EBD to any passionate biologist!
