🥳Congratulations Koto and James!!! 🥳

🎉 Koto Nakajima, a first-year undergraduate student in the UCL Department of History, and James Fielding, a first-year undergraduate student in the UCL Institute of Archaeology, were both selected this year to become Laidlaw Scholars.

On being awarded the Scholarship, Koto said: “I feel honoured and delighted to have this opportunity to engage in this research project! Ever since reading the project description, I knew this project was the one, and I am very excited to work with Professor Theano Moussouri.”

James described the Scholarship as "a fantastic opportunity", telling us, "I’m really excited to get underway with my work with the rest of the team and uncover more amazing stories about archaeology and the impact it has on local communities across the world.”

Join Dr Oscar Winberg (University of Turku) at the launch of his newest book: How One Television Show Remade American Politics Dr Oscar Winberg.

Chaired by Dr Joshua Hollands (UCL Institute of the Americas) this book talk will explore how political campaigns turned to All in the Family to gain attention, funds, and votes.

Focusing on the presidential election of 1972 and its legacy, it will also show how President Nixon, Democratic campaigns, and grassroot activists as well as television writers, producers, and stars looked to use and abuse the most popular show on the air.
