Hey LAG lovers! 🦙

Its time for our next social! Over the next week we will holding a number of goat walking sessions at Ouseburn farm 🐐. There are only 5 places per session which we are running on Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th, and Tuesday 16th November at 10am and 2pm each day, so please sign up ASAP on the NUSU website using the link in our bio to get your hooves on a place 🤩. (Make sure you’re logged in so you have access to the “activity sign-ups” tab).

🐐OUSEBURN FARM SOCIAL🐐

We’re excited to announce that our first social of the year will visiting Ouseburn farm on Saturday 2nd October 12-3pm ❤️ This social is a taster social so you and your friends can attend with or without membership! 🤩

🦙FRESHERS FAIR🦙

Join us between 10am and 4pm ok Sunday 19th September at the Student Union for freshers fair!

Come and find out more about the society, what we’re doing this year and for a chance to enter our competition to win a LAG themed prize🐐

🐐LAG ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING🦙

Exciting news - it’s time for our first ever LAG AGM!

For those that don’t know, this is when we elect our new committee for the 2021/22 year! It’s also a great time catch up with everyone and talk about your favourite things - Llama’s, Alpaca’s and Goats (of course!)

So we’ve goat 4 llamazing roles up for grabs…

With a bit of luck (and lots of vaccines), we will be able to hold in person activities and run things as normal in the coming year so there are so many exciting opportunities to be had on committee. As a committee, you will create ideas for both society activites and socials too. Being on a committee is also great for your cv! ✨

If you are interested and want to apply, please make a short 60-90 second video of why you are suited to the role and any ideas you may have for the society. Then send this to the page messenger or email them to [email protected] (our social media officer’s email) by the 13th of May. The videos will be posted on a private page so only members will be able to see them so don’t worry. Voting will be held after all applications are in.

Also, depending how many applications we get we may open up more roles like social media officer but if not then this will be the responsibility of the committee 💻

🎂ITS BAKE OFF TIME 🎂

It’s llama, alpaca and goat week in the bake off tent so we don’t mind what you bake...it just has to have some aspect of lag to it! 🐐🦙

Please send your photo entries via Instagram or Facebook message by 5pm on the 24th of February! So there’s plenty of time to get baking! It’s a bit of fun so don’t worry if you drop your cake or your biscuit crumbles, send it in anyway, the more the merrier! ☺️

As much as we would of liked to have got Paul Hollywood to come judge and give you one of his famous handshakes (pre-covid obviously😳), star-baker(s) will be chosen by you guys after all the entries are in!

Welcome to our official page for our new society - THE LLAMA, ALPACA & GOAT SOCIETY 🦙🐐

Hopefully you've seen and been keeping up with our insta page! If not, look us up -

Due to the circumstances I'm sure you're all aware of, until further notice we won’t be able to do in person activities so for now all our socials will have to have online on everyone’s favourite software - ZOOM 💻

With a bit of luck (and science) next semester we’ll be able to start doing some in person farm visits, goat yoga and llama/alpaca walks! We’re not kidding when we say you’ll have an unforgoatable time with us 🙌🏼

For now we have our first online social coming up THIS FRIDAY AT 8 for all you fluffy farm animal lovers! The social will be a quiz so get yourselves, your flatmates and your pets to come along - EVERYONE IS WELCOME, you don’t need a membership for this one😊 There will also be some LAG themed prizes for the winners of the quiz if seeing the committee’s beautiful faces and a llamazing quiz wasn’t quite enough to entice you along. I will be making an event for it on this page tonight so keep an eye out for that! 👀

Also, while I’ve got goat your attention, I just want to say that this is a hard and challenging time for everyone and it is important that we all look out for each other and keep an eye on our herd. Our welfare officer, Mairi Conway, will always be there for you. Please get in touch about about any topic, any question - big or small, if think you need more support from the uni or simply if you want to chat. Her email is [email protected] or drop her a Facebook message. All the committee want to make sure you’re all okay during these tough times. 🥰
