✨ Equine Kinesiology Taping - now available ✨
As many of you already know I’ve been quite excited to be able to add taping to my toolbox! I’ve been taped numerous times myself and could really feel an improvement. Because horses are so much more sensitive than us I’m convinced they’ll feel the benefits too!
What is K-Taping?
Kinesiology tape is a stretchy, elastic tape applied to a horse’s skin to support movement without restricting it. In simple words; it works by gently lifting the hair follicles in the skin, which helps to improve circulation, reduce swelling, provide pain relief and enhance body awareness (proprioception).
Widely used in human physiotherapy and sports medicine with strong results, it’s now becoming increasingly popular in equine care.
In horses, it may help to:
• Support posture and core activation
• Aid rehabilitation after injury
• Reduce muscle tension or swelling
• Reduce nerve pain or irritation (eg headshaking syndrome)
• Reduce paraspinal pain
• Aid in the management of chronic joint pathologies (KS, PSD, OA)
I will use K-taping alongside my manual therapies and electrotherapies to help reinforce and prolong their effects as part of a tailored treatment plan.
K-taping is a supportive, adjunct therapy—most effective when combined with appropriate rehab, training, and veterinary guidance.
The best news is, I will be able to show you how to apply the tape yourself to aid your horse in their daily life. There will be no extra charge for taping at regular appointments either.
