Hey everyone! On behalf of the committee I would like to apologise. The start of this trimester has been a busy one for those on the committee and sadly we weren’t in a position to organise any events as early on in the trimester as we would have liked. That being said we have good news.

On Saturday the 19th, this weekend, we will be at Port Edgar hosting our first taster session of the year. You will get a chance to crew a Hunter 707 in the iconic River Forth, with one of our experienced sailors and port Edgar instructing staff.

If you're new to sailing that’s not a problem, we'll show you the ropes and give you a chance of helming the boat yourself.

If you are interested in coming please let us know so we know how many to expect and we hope to see you all there.

There are two sessions running
One in the morning 9:30 - 12:30
And
One In the afternoon 13:30 - 16:30

The session is included in your club membership if you have already paid. If you aren't a member yet, you can come along to this session for £5 to try sailing before signing up!

For those going to the session

We will be meeting at Queensferry Street (Stop QE) at 8:30(leaving at 8:45) to take the 43 bus to South Queensferry Police Station. There's a 5 min walk down Shore Road to reach Port Edgar. The ticket is £2.70 each way, so be sure to bring change or a cityWEST m-ticket.

If you wish to go to the afternoon section there will be someone waiting at the bus stop for you at 12:30 as well!

We have a very exciting opportunity at Napier University

Volunteer abroad this summer in the AMAZON, FIJI, SE ASIA OR AFRICA!

Get involved in some incredible humanitarian projects from building houses and toilets, refurbishing schools and teaching english, nutrition and hygeine! You also have the chance to work with cheetahs, crocodiles or in a remote elephant sanctuary!

As an added bonus get immersed in your host countries culture and dive into some incredible adventures activities from an island hopping tour, scuba diving, cave exploring, a wildlife safari, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, trekking through the amazon rainforest and more!

International volunteering really builds your CV and the opportunity is for all students (and postgrads can apply also)

Info sessions are at Craiglockhart campus by the Starbucks TODAY from 12-4 every hour!

Or make a non-commital application online 😊
