Following last years success, please have a root around your bookshelves and think about donating any oldies to the Save the Children book fair. Failing that, go and spend a couple of pounds for a good cause on the 9th April. Boxes for any donations will be arriving in the facilities building soon :)

大家好(Hello Everybody),

The DRAFP Taiji Quan and Shaolin Kung Fu Group is a weekly exercise group organised by the Wardennial Team at Nisbet room (KY16 9LY).

Every Saturday you are welcomed to join us to experience Taiji Quan and Shaolin Kung Fu (or just one of it). You can also invite your friends to join us!

The schedule from now on is:
14.00-15.30 - Shaolin Kung Fu Group
15.30-16.30 - Taiji Quan

Prices:

First session: Free

TaiJi OR Shaolin Kung Fu: £3
TaiJi AND Shaolin Kung Fu: £4 (for both)

Prices for non-university affiliates: £5 for one class and £10 for both

Shaolin Kung Fu is among the oldest institutionalised styles (circa 1500 years old) of Chinese martial arts. In the class, basic skills will be mainly taught which will improve your stamina, flexibility, strength and balance as well as self defence techniques.

Taiji Quan is consisted of expansive, flowing, whole body movements through the core, engaging the breath, so that deep breathing follows naturally. Their practice relieves stress and tension. The body feels energised, but calm at the same time. That helps on concentration and focus of the mind for the day ahead while maintaining health and well-being.
