Featuring some wonderful people: Sally Smith representing a wonderful team of colleagues from the World Health Organization (WHO), Ben Walker (Church of England), Mwai Makoka (World Council of Churches) and chaired by Harvey Kwiyani.

Centre Director Sanjoy Bhattacharya is co-organising this event in association with Indrajit Roy's interdisciplinary project on Hope, generously funded by the Politics Department at the University of York.

Dr Indrajit Roy has been awarded a strategic grant by University of York's Politics Department to develop a consortium on HOPE that will bring together York academics from across faculties to work with a range of external partners around the world.

The CGHH congratulates Dr Roy on his success, and will work in collaboration with him on this project.

Dr. Indrajit Roy has been awarded departmental funding to develop and consolidate an interdisciplinary York Hope Consortium alongwith Professor Claire Chambers and Professor Sanjoy Bhattacharya.

Deadline approaching for this years' Willian Bynum essay prize for Medical History. To be considered for this prize please submit your articles within 31 January 2021 to the journal Editor Professor Sanjoy Bhattacharya. The William Bynum Prize is awarded each year to the author of an original essay on any theme relating to the history of medicine and its related sciences. This international competition is open to doctoral students and early post-doctoral researchers (candidates who have completed their PhDs no longer than 3 years before submission of the entry).
