Hola a todos!!
We are sorry to say that this year has been a little difficult as we were unable to elect a new committee for 2024/2025! Nonetheless, we are determined to get the society back on its feet and have received significant interest about the positions available, which is brilliant!
The roles available in the committee are:
President: they represent the society and oversee all activity. This person will be the point of contact between Spanish Society, YUSU and even the university. They should also provide guidance, support and advice to the other committee members.
Secretary: they are the person in charge of admin and communication. They should be the person to write emails, minutes if needed, records… They support the president in everything.
Treasurer: this person is in charge of finances, bookings, event ticket sales etc.
Of course, these responsibilities are not set in stone, it will be up to the committee members to communicate these and other responsibilities and boundaries accordingly:)
If you’re interested, email us at this address ([email protected]) saying which role you’re interested in by Friday 2nd May. Your email must include a manifesto expressing why you’re interested in the role, why you think you’d be suitable and any possible ideas for events for next year!!
Your manifestos will be added to the google form that members use to vote for next year's committee, so they can really appreciate what the candidates stand for. Please be advised that only PAID MEMBERS can stand and vote in the election.
We cannot stress enough how beneficial being on committee for an international society is, there are so many benefits!
We highly recommend you go for this opportunity!! And get to writing those manifestos!!
