26 years ago, we formed a human shield to protect our freedom and the values we stand for - this should be never forgotten. We have to remember the innocent blood spilt on 13th of January 1991, because without this bloodshed we would not be the nation we are today. We should stand together no matter what, like all those people did on this day.

***
Hopefully everyone is having a serene day, and where ever you are, no matter what are you doing, stop for a minute and reflect about these historic events that mean so much to Lithuanian nation.

The society is planning to go to the York Minster to light some candles over the weekend or at the beginning of the week. Members, please check the post in our group, and anyone who wants to be involved, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Hello everyone!

We'd like to apologise for the long silence here on this page. It's been a tough end of the term, and finally the long awaited Christmas break.

We want to thank for a good start of the academic year and hope that the rest of it is only going to get better :)

Hopefully this is not the last post of the year 2016, but we'd like finally upload a tiny slideshow from the awesome event hosted by the Helenic society! We're grateful that we've been invited to co-host, we want to say thank you and hope for another one later in the year ;)

Because of the paid entry, each society got a part of the profit, and the committee of Lithuanian society has decided to donate for a selected charity. (if you are curious which charity, contact us, and we'll share the information, so you could help out as well)

And for the members - think of what you'd like to do socially next term and don't forget to tell us, we'll organise 🎉
