We had an impactful stakeholder engagement under the theme: “Stakeholders Dialogue on the implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Initiative” in Adukrom on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, as we align our visions for the rollout of the No Fees Stress initiative for the 2026/27 academic year.

We were honoured to have the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu present as we shared insights and gathered valuable feedback to make this policy even better for Tertiary students and families in Ghana.

Together, we are working towards making tertiary education more accessible and easing the financial burden on families.

The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) is a government agency that provides financial support to eligible tertiary Ghanaian students, enabling them to pursue higher education.

Newly admitted first-year students in public universities and public technical universities who face fee-payment deadlines can now access bridge financing from the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) under the Government’s No Academic Fees Policy.

Eligible students may apply through the No-Fees-Stress Portal, and SLTF will advance the required fee deposit directly to the institution to help secure their admission. The advance will subsequently be reconciled against the student’s approved academic fee support.

Yesterday, the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, convened a key meeting with the Students Loan Trust Fund Ghana (SLTF), the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Vice-Chancellors Ghana (VCG), and the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF). The discussion focused on addressing urgent matters regarding the implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Initiative for the 2026/27 academic year.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment among all stakeholders to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent any qualified Ghanaian student from pursuing tertiary education.

We express our gratitude to the Minister for his leadership and thank all participating organizations for their continued collaboration and support.
We assure students, parents, and guardians that the SLTF, in close partnership with tertiary institutions, remains fully dedicated to realizing President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of accessible, fee-stress-free higher education for all Ghanaians.
