The HKUST Social Venture Summit (HKUST SVS) is a student initiative which aims to inspire HKUST students to engage in social entrepreneurship in the future. Through a series of event, students can get a better sense of the real meaning of socially driven business. The major function of HKUST Social Venture Summit is to provide a platform for practitioners, students

and professors to exchange the

ir ideas, experiences and best practices. By interacting with the practitioners, students would know more about the mindset and qualities of being a social entrepreneur. The program also features firm visits in different social enterprises. Students can get to know the daily operations and challenges faced by practitioners. In addition to firm visits, SVS also cooperates with social enterprises to conduct skill-based workshops, which allow students to equip themselves with the fundamental knowledge and necessary skills in starting up a successful social enterprise.

Beyer說：「我們都知道，如果我們喜歡的店家關門是多麼讓人感到沮喪。現在的城市看起來越來越像，充斥著相同品牌所建立的商店。單一店家無法在數位時代單打獨鬥，更遑論建立物流系統來與其他人競爭。但店家形成的網絡就可以，也就是Kiezkaufhaus這個計畫要做的。」//

編譯：賴菘偉 一般人可能因為沒時間，而在網路上買衛生紙、鞋子、洗髮精或其他日常用品。這樣雖方便，卻可能產生幾個顯而易見的問題，例如減少當地店家的收入，且因運送貨物而增加了許多碳足跡。因此，德國一家新創企業正在嘗試新的模式：一個只以當地店家為主的網路商店，並以載貨腳踏車運送，提供當天送達的服務。 「一年前，當我們看到員工網購送到公司堆積如山的包裏，也覺得網購真的很方便，但仔細想想，這其實有點不太對。
