Meaning of GENESIS

“Genesis” is the first book in the Bible, which describes the creation of earth and mankind. It is the commence of the world; it is the origin of life; it is the symbol of fresh and power.

“The whole world starts with zero”, there is nothing on the earth at the beginning. Though our team is not as mighty as the creator of this world, our cabinet would like to be innovative.

Our abilities may augment every day, and we would catalogue a new page for this society. Our cabinet is a team formed by 20 "freshmen", we are fresh, yet, we believe we have the potential and power to successfully and diligently take care of this society in the future. As mentioned in “Genesis”, the whole world commenced in complacence. In spite of hectic academic work, our cabinet would like to bring back such ambience through organizing events. We learn, we grow, and we evolve with this society.

「Genesis」是聖經第一部書 -《創世紀》，敍述了大地與人類的創始。「創世紀」三字昭示著世界的開端，生命之始源，簇新的景象，更是朝氣與活力的代表。

根據《創世紀》，天地被神創造後，仍處於渾沌狀態。不久神區分了晝夜，劃分了海洋和陸地，創造了萬物。我閣誠不能如聖經中所記載的神明般，成為造物主，但我閣希望勇於創新，為香港科技大學學生會生物系學生會寫下簇新的一頁。

我閣由二十位懷著滿腔熱誠，具魄力的新生組成。也許我閣仍處於旅程的起點，但我閣定必從錯誤中學習，從挫折中站起來。假以時日，我閣定會打破「新鮮人」三字的枷鎖，以自身潛能和力量，尋求生物系學生會更長遠的發展。

「Genesis」一字蘊含「安逸」的意義。儘管未來的學業像一座大山一樣，壓得我們喘不過氣來，我閣也會竭盡所能，透過組織更多活動，營造寫意的氛圍。我閣未來定會與生物系學生會一併學習，共同成長，一起進步。

Mascot

Our mascot is a wolf. Wolves appear in packs, the strength of the packs is inestimable. Teamwork makes the dream work. Our cabinet emphasizes unity. Commencing with infrangible union power, our cabinet could be the initiator to rally this society. Wolves walk with supreme confidence in the dark. They venture into the forest and conquer their fear of the unknown. Despite hardships and fears, we will walk through the uncharted journey in high spirits. Wolves have strong instincts and are highly sensitive, they act as protectors who direct ways in unexplored path. Observance and leadership are some elements that our cabinet would like to hold.

“Attitude, but not aptitude, that determines altitude”. Our cabinet may not be superb, but we would be all eyes and all ears. We would work meticulously to strive for perfection.

我閣的吉祥物為狼。狼為群體動物，每一頭狼都需為群體付出，狼之間的默契更決定群體效率，其力量無可比擬。我閣尤其重視團隊合作，深信閣員之間的默契會把我閣推到成功的彼岸。

狼並不懼怕黑暗，牠們習慣在夜幕中行走。就算踏進茫茫林海，牠們也會把「恐懼」踩在腳下，依然昂首闊步。即使前路茫茫、滿是荊棘，我閣也會如同狼般，拋開一切恐懼，鬥志高昂地走過這趟旅程，踏上康莊大道。

除了征服黑暗，狼還擁有敏銳的觸覺及準確的直覺。牠們是黑暗中的明燈，是探索新大陸的先鋒。我閣會探索未知的世界，衝破黑暗，尋找黎明。

我閣二十位成員日後定當事事觀察入微，抱著推己及人的精神，一絲不苟的態度做事。我閣也會像狼一樣，成為香港科技大學學生會生物系學生會的導航者，帶領學會邁進光輝的一頁。
