Cityu GE 2224 World Economic History: Europe and China (世界經濟史: 歐洲及中國) We will discuss how different factors shape our economic success today.

The focus of the course is on explaining the economic development of Europe and China during the period 960 – 1949. We will also explore issues like: Why did industrial revolution happen in Europe? Have China and Asia been falling behind Europe in terms of economic and social development? Did China make any contributions to world economic and social developments? What are the reasons for the occurrence of financial crises?
