Cityu GE 2311 Technology and Society (技術與社會) Technological development is a major influence on human living.

There are technological glories from the early empires: China, the Greeks, Rome, Byzantine and Islamic empires; technological aspects of the Renaissance; the new technology bloom of the 20th century. Technology has influenced all levels of human behavior: family structure, relationships between the sexes, interpersonal relations, government structure, social structure, work environment, and the

distribution of wealth and power. Technological developments in the 21st century concern every one of us: pollution, work place health hazards, the social impact of computers and the information explosion, the Green Revolution, and technology as a solution for developing countries. A number of activities such as tutorial discussion, project report and presentation are included in addition to lectures.
