【🚫 💊香港青少年吸毒問題及分析】
早前 HKMU Lipace HD in Psychology 心理學高級文憑 舉行咗一場有關香港青少年吸毒問題及分析嘅專題嘉賓講座！十分感謝 The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) 香港青年協會 青年違法防治中心的兩位代表：文習武先生（單位主任）及胡中成先生（項目主任）抽空同我哋分享，帶嚟好專業又貼地嘅見解 💡

兩位講者透過前線個案分享，令同學更清楚見到社區藥物濫用問題，可能出現喺學校、網上世界、朋輩圈子。💊成癮其實係一個複雜嘅過程，牽涉大腦犒賞系統、衝動控制、學習同記憶嘅改變，再加上壓力、情緒困擾同環境因素，慢慢令濫藥行為變得愈來愈難以控制。🧠

再次多謝香港青年協會兩位講者嘅分享，同埋同學積極投入嘅提問。希望今次講座能夠成為大家反思香港青少年濫藥問題，亦重新思考「異常」背後嘅大腦、心理同社會因素。 💭

【 🚫 💊 Substance Abuse among Hong Kong Youth】

Earlier this Semester, our Year 2 students attended a guest lecture on “Substance Abuse among Hong Kong Youth: Issues and Analysis”. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Leo MAN Chap-mo (Unit-in-charge) and Mr. Chung-shing WU (Project Officer) from The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) for their insightful and engaging sharing. 💡

Drawing on their rich experience in community and youth work, our speakers helped students recognise how common drug-related issues actually are in our community – it can appear in schools, online spaces and peer groups in very subtle ways. 💊 A key takeaway related to the word “abnormal” in Abnormal Psychology, many teenagers who later struggle with drug addiction start off as “normal” students, sons and daughters, or friends. Addiction is a complex process which involves changes in reward pathways, impulse control, learning and memory – which interact with stress, emotional difficulties and environmental pressures. 🧠

Once again, heartfelt thanks to our two speakers from HKFYG and to all students for their active participation. We hope this lecture has encouraged everyone to rethink youth substance abuse and the “abnormal” in abnormal psychology through the lenses of the brain, mind and society. 💭

【HKMU LiPACE《大專•好精神》完滿結束 ✨】

由HKMU Lipace 香港都會大學 李嘉誠專業進修學院聯同浸信會愛羣社會服務處 Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service - BOKSS合辦嘅「HKMU LiPACE《大專·好精神》精神健康推廣攤位展覽」已經喺2026年4月25日喺荃灣愉景新城 D ‧ PARK 圓滿舉行，當日吸引近 1,000 位市民參與，場面非常熱鬧 🎉。

當日有 20 個從二月校園活動中獲選入圍嘅 HKMU Lipace HD in Psychology 心理學高級文憑同 HKMU Lipace DFS 學生設計嘅創意攤位，將喺課堂同精神素養訓練中學到嘅知識，應用喺日常生活入面，向公眾推廣精神健康重要性 🧠💚。另外，學院同合作機構亦設有 3 個主題攤位，加埋 4 場精彩表演 🧑‍🎤💃，成功帶動現場氣氛，吸引唔少市民駐足參與。

呢次活動充分體現咗學生嘅學習成果與成長歷程，亦體現本院透過實踐學習及社區參與，培育學生的使命🌱。透過參與實踐學習同埋社區外展活動，學生能為推廣精神健康意識出一分力，並在社區中帶來正面影響 👪。

特別多謝 23 位心理學高級文憑學生同畢業生擔任活動學生幫手，全程落力支持同協助，令活動得以順利完成 🙌。

【HKMU LiPACE Tertiary Thrive Mental Health Fair ✨】

The “HKMU LiPACE Tertiary Thrive Mental Health Fair”, co-organised by our School and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, was successfully held on 25 April 2026 at D‧PARK, Tsuen Wan, drawing nearly 1,000 participants from the public 🎉.

20 creative student-led booths were showcased, designed and run by finalists from our February on-campus event from the Higher Diploma in Psychology and the Diploma in Foundation Studies. Their work illustrated how classroom learning and mental well-being training can be transformed into practical, real-life applications to promote mental health 🧠💚. In addition, 3 thematic booths from the School and NGO, together with 4 stage performances, further enriched the programme and created a vibrant atmosphere🧑‍🎤💃.

This event highlighted the growth, initiative and achievements of our students, and reflected our commitment to nurturing them as proactive change-makers through experiential learning and community engagement 🌱. By taking part in this student-led initiative, they contributed meaningfully to raising mental health awareness and fostering a more supportive community 👪.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the 23 Psychology students and graduates who served as event helpers and gave their dedicated support. 🙌

2026年3月30日，我們很榮幸邀請到 Tung Wah College - TWC 東華學院的代表為我們的 HKMU Lipace HD in Psychology 心理學高級文憑學生舉辦招生講座。講座協助同學探索升學興趣、清晰職涯方向，以及了解升讀相關學士課程嘅途徑同準備策略。🎓✨

【📢✨ Articulation Talk Series: Tung Wah College 📚】

On 30 March 2026, we were delighted to host representatives from Tung Wah College (TWC) to deliver an articulation talk for our Higher Diploma in Psychology students. The session offered valuable guidance on exploring further study options, clarifying career goals, and planning articulation pathways in psychology and gerontology. 🎓✨

During the talk, TWC representatives Dr Beeto Leung （Programme Leader, Bachelor of Social Science in Applied Psychology), Dr Stephen Chan (Programme Leader, Bachelor of Science in Applied Gerontology) and Ms Megan Chan (Registry) introduced key features, admission requirements, learning experiences, practicum opportunities, and career prospects of these programmes. 💡

【 HKMU LiPACE “Tertiary Thrive” @ D ‧ PARK 】

This Saturday (25 April 2026), HKMU LiPACE will bring the “Tertiary Thrive” Mental Health Fair into the community at D·PARK in Tsuen Wan. Over 20 student-led mental health booths will be set up, featuring a variety of games, handicraft activities, attractive gifts and community performances. 💬【Getting Ready for HKMU LiPACE "Tertiary Thrive"】🧠

In the past weeks, the student teams from that won our campus booth campaign in February have just completed 4 focused coaching sessions to prepare for HKMU LiPACE "Tertiary Thrive", the upcoming large-scale public mental health education event.

Their coaching sessions covered:
🔹 Explaining mental health and psychology concepts clearly to the public
🔹 Handling crowds and on-the-spot enquiries in a busy event setting
🔹 Responding to participants of different ages with professionalism and empathy
🔹 Reflecting on their growth as future helping professionals

This Saturday, they will put what they have learned into practice at their public education booth! 🎪

All members of the public are warmly welcome to join HKMU LiPACE "Tertiary Thrive" co-organised by HKMU LiPACE and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service. 【 #青山醫院 「Mind Space 精神健康體驗館」 參訪✨】

HKMU Lipace HD in Psychology 心理學高級文憑 二年級同學早前喺課程團隊帶領下，參觀咗青山醫院嘅精神健康博物館 Mind Space。透過互動展品、「徵狀體驗室」同「真人圖書館」，同學以第一身角度接觸精神健康相關知識，打破好多常見嘅迷思同誤解。🏥📖

今次參訪亦令同學更具體咁理解香港精神健康服務由院舍式照顧走向社區照顧嘅歷史發展。同學唔單止喺課本上學理論，而係親身見到制度、政策同服務點樣隨住社會變化而慢慢轉型。特別多謝體驗館幾位朋輩支援工作員真誠又勇敢嘅分享，讓同學聽到當事人面對標籤、挫折同復元旅程嘅真實聲音。🤝💬

社會上對精神疾病仍然存在唔少污名，好多說法其實既唔準確亦好傷人，令有需要嘅人更加卻步，唔敢開口求助。希望同學可以將今次經驗化成力量，用知識同同理心喺日常生活中溫柔咁拆解標籤，為精神健康留多一步空間、多一份尊重，慢慢推動一個更接納、更包容嘅社會。 🫶🌟

【Visit to Mind Space @ Castle Peak Hospital ✨】

Our Year 2 Higher Diploma in Psychology students recently visited Mind Space – The Mental Health Experience Museum at Castle Peak Hospital with our Programme Team. Through interactive exhibitions, Symptom Experience Rooms and the Lived Library, they encountered powerful real‑life stories and experiential activities that challenged common myths and misconceptions about mental health. 🏥📚

The visit helped students better understand the history of mental healthcare in Hong Kong, particularly the shift from long‑term institutional care to a more community‑based, recovery‑oriented approach. We are especially grateful to the peer support workers, whose honest and insightful sharing offered a heartfelt perspective on distress, stigma and recovery that no textbook can fully capture. 🤝💬

Stigma around mental illness is still widespread, and harmful labels can stop people from speaking up or seeking help. We hope our students will carry what they learned at Mind Space into their future studies and careers – using their knowledge to challenge misconceptions, speaking about mental health with respect, and becoming part of a broader movement to normalise and destigmatise mental health conversations in our community. 🫶🌟
