GE2102 - Encountering World Religions

By introducing the major anthropological, sociological and other social scientific and humanities approaches, guiding students having direct field-visit experience to religious sites, facilitating first-hand encounter and dialogue with religious clergy and believers in the local context, this course is to broaden students’ understanding and to make sense the impact of religious revival in our cont

emporary world. Through lectures, class discussion, site visits, listening to guest speakers’ lectures, students group presentations, individual after-field visit reflection report and individual essay, students are encouraged to construct their own critical understanding on diverse religious traditions and how their distinctive value orientations contribute to the solidarity of believers and various debates in the global affairs.
