Over the past decade, the internet boom had spread digital media to every corner of our life. Traditional media like newspapers, printed books and photos, cassette tapes and films are all reborn in the form only imagined in mid-90s Hollywood films. This introductory course provides opportunities for students to cultivate perspectives on digital media and its social impacts in the contemporary worl

The course looks into the latest development of digital technologies in media, in particular social media and internet, as well as how people interact with these technologies in relation to society, culture, economy and politics. Besides, this course is accompanied by laboratory to equip students with the basic skills for manipulating audio visual contents.
