Navigation, especially ocean navigation, has been the off-land venture that brought on earth the international trade and the modern globalization, and has become an inevitable part of modern lives and societies. To a local front, harbour and ocean navigation symbolize Hong Kong’s tradition, and constitute one of the economic pillars of Hong Kong. With new navigation technologies, including the sta

te-of-the-art ship simulation software, the navigation subjects, such as navigating (waterways) and piloting (airways), can be studied and learned as general knowledge and basic skill of career development, recreational interests and daily life, stimulating discovery of maritime business and industrial opportunities in Hong Kong and China, including aerial and maritime search and rescue. The necessary training and skill to virtually steer a ship, involving leadership and operation under uncertain weather, changing environment and multi-nation cultures, can also facilitate exploring international culture exchange and social values.
